I would like to take small clay flower pots and seal them then have the little kids put their hand prints on them for Mother's Day.

I've tried this in the past and found the sealants don't last. They get flaky. Any thoughts on what sealant to try.

you might have better luck with exterior house paint and primer. have you ever used their lil handprints for the flowers. then the flowers last forever and you dont hafta worry about sealing the pots? theres a poem that goes with it.

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.

But every day I'm growing -
I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away.

So here's a little handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.
