Willful Sin Origin Quest
Are All Sins the Same Debate
As most who have read the studies at Christianity Oasis know, I am not one to preach hell and damnation in some vain effort to bring submission by use of fear. I do not believe that any relationship based on fear will be able to withstand the trials and tribulations and the Old Covenant proved this to be so and this is why the New Covenant was created.
Much like a marriage where the woman lived with the man only out of fear or obligation, it would be destined to fail as fear is a poor substitute for Love. When it is true Love and understanding of one another. That is the real deal and the foundation is strong.
No, I believe in God's Grace and Love and that this is what will have us choose to follow Jesus. Knowing that He loved us so much that He would be willing to die for us and we sense that Love and return it. With this in mind, let us look at a few Scriptures and see if we can bring harmony and understanding to our minds and hearts on some very frightening Words in the Bible.
What is willful sin? The Bible has much to say about willful sin and how very important it is to understand the consequences of willful sin as we sojourn along our Christian path. Let us look for answers to the question ... What is willful sin, shall we?
Willful Sin Origin Field Trip
Are All Sins the Same Now
4 For it is impossible for those who were once
enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made
partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of
the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto
repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh,
and put Him to an open shame.
2 Peter 2:20-22
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the
world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is
worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the
way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from
the Holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true
proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that
was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Hebrews 10:26-27
26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery
indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Willful Sin Origin Fear
Are All Sins the Same Source
Can you name any human that has not sinned after becoming Christian? Certainly, we can agree that most if not all people have fallen short (sinned) after becoming a Christian. So are we all destined to Hell? Let me ask you this simple, What is Willful Sin trivia question ... Is it a sin to deny Jesus? Seems obvious, huh? But, did not Peter deny Jesus three times? Did Peter know it was a sin to deny Jesus? Was he not warned prior to that he would? Did Peter deny Jesus willfully?
Is Peter in Hell? Absolutely not.
So, there must be a misinterpretation of the Scripture where some religious leaders suggest you go to Hell, if you sin willfully after you become a Christian. That is incorrect discernment of God's Word. You know, the ole ... God who sacrificed His only Son to get us into Heaven because He Loved us so much, seeking ways to get us to go to Hell ideology. Nonsense.
Let me give you a little, What is Willful Sin reminder of what is said in the Bible about those who sin willfully ... "But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation. So the question becomes; When we sin, do we sin willfully? I would like to share something Paul said:
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal,
sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that
do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the
law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that
dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth
no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform
that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which
I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do
it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is
present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against
the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin
which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the
body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with
the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh
the law of sin.
Willful Sin Origin Curse
Are All Sins the Same Purpose
Paul explained that we have this fleshly sin within us and that we are not willing to sin, but sometimes we do. It is not us that sins, but the flesh within us making the choice and we are not willing. This fleshly part of us has the Original Sin within it.
This Original Sin is the sinful nature that every human has inherited because of the original sinful choice that Adam and Eve made thousands of years ago in the Garden of Eden when tempted by Satan.
Due to this choice made by the first man and woman ... The sin is now in the flesh of all mankind and when we are born, we are destined to death.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Unless we make the choice to believe in Jesus:
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
When we become Christians, we are reborn and receive a new start and are placed on the path to Salvation and Eternal Life. This is due to a long awaited prophecy fulfillment given by God. It is the New Covenant of Grace from our loving Heavenly Father and it has the destiny of death made void by the precious, loving and absolutely amazing and awe inspiring Blood of Jesus.
As Christians, we are bound under the New Covenant shared in the New Testament, not the Old Covenant (Jewish laws and customs given by Moses) just as the Lord promised when He said that He has destroyed the Old Covenant because the Jewish people could not keep up their end of the deal and would have been destined to Hell. However, God foretold of His choice to Sacrifice His Son to save us. Check this prophecy out written hundreds of years before Jesus came to die for our sins;
10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder,
that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the
people.
11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the
flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord.
12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my
price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty
pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a
goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty
pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the
Lord.
What is Willful Sin Origin Danger
Willful Sin and Are All Sins the Same Today
Awesome is He not? The Old Covenant ended when Jesus died and Judas Iscariot and the Religious leaders weighed His price for 30 pieces of silver and they crucified our Lord and He died for our sins. The New Covenant then began. So many fail to see this Truth and prefer to teach law and works as the way to enter Heaven instead of God's Love and Grace by sacrificing His Son as our only way in.
Now, make no mistake my friend ...
By no means is God's Grace a "Get out of hell free" card. You are still responsible for your actions after you receive God's Grace.
God's Grace reveals that if you truly believe in Jesus and the Truth that He was willing to die for you, and did, that you would know that He loves you so much that you will want to do what He wants you to do because you would know that He is looking out for your best interests. You will try hard not to do things that would make him ashamed or disappointed in you. You may fall, but always remember that only a worm is free from the worry of stumble and the real test is to see if you will get up, dust yourself off, carry on and never surrender.
As time passes, you will find that you begin to make the right choices, out of love and not fear of punishment. You will do it because you want to serve and please your Heavenly Father. It will be your Faith that establishes your works. Let's talk about this willful mind again. This works both ways you know ... Ponder and pray on this:
For if i do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the Gospel is committed unto me.
Willful Sin Origin War Within
Are All Sins the Same Fate
We must perform our Christian duties willingly or it is not deemed as our choice and the reward is not ours. In like manner is it not fair to say that when we are not willing participants in our sins, the punishment is not ours?
What did Paul say?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Let me ask you something. In the Old Covenant, if someone sinned, they had animal sacrifices made for their sin and they were forgiven. They would do this as often as required or needed.
But, in the New Covenant, Jesus is the sacrifice for our sins. Are we to assume for one second that His sacrifice is only able to have our sins forgiven once?
12 But this man [Jesus], after He had offered one
sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His
footstool.
14 For by one offering He hath perfected for ever
them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for
after that He had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their
hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
No, Jesus is not a sacrifice that only cleanses away one sin. We are able to repent and be forgiven many times over.
Some believe that becoming a Christian creates an instant change within and suddenly you are worry free and willful sin free ... Yeah right, huh?
What is Willful Sin Origin Woe
Willful Sin / Are All Sins the Same Fate
We all know that as Christians, we are to expect Trials and Tribulation.
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must, through much tribulation, enter into the Kingdom of God.
We are to be patient and endure these trials and tribulation:
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
As these repeated trials and tribulation establish patience:
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience.
Many believe they are all alone during these trials and tribulations and are the only ones which endure such things.
Willful Sin Origin Punishment
Are All Sins the Same Deliberation
However, Peter shares this with us:
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
The Bible reveals that these trials and tribulation are for our benefit.
Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
No, it is definitely a process. We are slowly being renewed day by day and the laws of God are being placed in us daily by Him and for Him.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Here is another, What is Willful Sin reminder ... We must remember the number one Truth:
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Willful Sin Origin Warning
Are All Sins the Same Danger
But, look at the very next verse to experience the whole essence of the Truth;
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
Yes, God Loves us and Jesus made the greatest sacrifice:
Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Romans 8:18-21
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time
are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed
in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for
the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not
willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in
hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered
from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the
children of God.
And remember:
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
What is Willful Sin Origin Summary
One more thing:
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
For one to convert a sinner removes our sins. So, get out there and save some souls. You need only seek and find that way (Truth) that has been placed out there for you to escape the pollution of this world which are traps set by the enemy of your soul. It is there. The only reason you have had difficulties locating this precious gift is because you are so wrapped up in the temptation or resulting guilt itself.
What is willful sin origin and are all sins the same? Now you know the Truth. There is a way to escape the temptation as well as the guilt we oft times experience when we have fallen victim to the Original Sin Curse. If we repented and God forgave us, we need to forgive ourselves and carry on. Willfully!
May the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you.
