Truth Shall Make You Free

⁸ And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

²⁰ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
²¹ And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of Grace and Truth.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the Truth. Every one that is of the Truth heareth my voice.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the Truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is Truth.

¹⁶ And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
¹⁷ Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me:

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

²³ But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.
²⁴ God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁵ Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
¹⁶ But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

¹⁷ And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
¹⁸ Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
¹⁹ Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

⁵¹ Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
⁵⁴ So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

¹³ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.
¹⁵ For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
¹⁶ For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
¹⁷ Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
¹⁸ Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with Truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Sanctify them through thy Truth: thy Word is Truth.

• purified: made pure or free from sin or guilt
• a process by which a Christian believer is made holy through the action of the Holy Spirit
• the process of making holy; hallowing, consecration

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the Truth:

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe (the Truth) to the saving of the soul.

¹⁹ Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
²⁰ Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in Truth.
¹⁹ And hereby we know that we are of the Truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.

¹⁷ Sanctify them through thy Truth: thy Word is Truth.
¹⁸ As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them [Apostles] into the world.
¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the Truth.
²⁰ Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
