The Truth Shall Set You Free Bible Quest

What is Truth and how can we obtain Truth and maintain the Truth? Let's face it ... Most Christians have learned what they know from preachers, friends, family, movies, books, etc. as compared to actually reading the entire Bible itself and discerning the Scriptures with the Spirit of Truth.

But, what if what we were taught was wrong? Is it possible that you were taught lies? What is the Truth? Here is Truth! Most were raised or taught to believe that it was an apple that Adam and Eve ate. But, the Truth is that it does not say it was an apple.

Genesis 3:1-7

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Most were raised or taught to believe that there were only 2 of every animal on Noah's Ark. But ... The Truth is there were 7 males and 7 females of all "clean" animals and just the 2 of other types of animals.

Genesis 7:2-3

2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

The reasoning is that the clean animals were used in sacrifices to God and if there were only two of each, and they sacrificed one of the two ... They would not be able to replenish the earth with that species.

The Truth Shall Set You Free Bible Truth

Most were raised or taught to believe that there were 3 wise men that went to see Jesus as an infant. But ... The Truth is the Bible just says there were 3 kinds of gifts not 3 men.

Matthew 2:11

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

Most were raised or taught to believe that it was Delilah that cut Samson's hair. But ... It was a man she called to do the task.

Judges 16:19

And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

Most were raised or taught to believe that when a believer dies, their soul goes to Heaven. But ... Jesus said that it goes to Abraham's Bosom.

Luke 16:22

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the Angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

The Truth Shall Set You Free Bible Gift

Most were raised or taught to believe that once you're reborn, Salvation is guaranteed. But ... You can be blotted out of the Book of Life.

Revelation 3:5

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His Angels.

Most were raised or taught to believe that Jacob wrestled with God one night. But ... This one's a little more complicated than the others because Jacob said, I have seen the face of God. But Jesus (when He was on Earth) said that nobody has seen God's face.

Genesis 32:30

And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

John 1:18

No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him.

The Truth Shall Set You Free Bible Vow

Most were raised or taught to believe that there was only one devil named Satan. But ... The Truth is, there are many devils. There is however, A devil called satan, who is the prince or leader of all devils, and his name is Lucifer.

Luke 8:30

And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

James 2:19

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Most were raised or taught to believe that humans do not become Angels. But, there are Angels among us.

Matthew 22:30

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the Angels of God in Heaven.

Revelation 22:8-9

8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the Angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

John, the writer of the book of Revelation is speaking to an Angel and he falls at the feet of this Angel. The Angel told John not to bow to him, because the Angel was a fellow servant and of thy brethren the prophets and of them, which keep the sayings of this book. This means that the Angel, that John was speaking to ... Was once a human ...

Most were raised or taught to believe that Mary Magdalene was the one who anointed the feet of Jesus with her tears. Some movies suggest this such as the movie titled "Jesus of Nazareth" ...

John 11:1-2

1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)

This is very important as Jesus said that we were to share the story of the woman who anointed the feet of Jesus each time we share the Gospel.

Matthew 26:13

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this Gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

The Truth Shall Set You Free Bible Blessing

So, we wanna get the name of who it was right. It is Mary, the sister of Lazarus who anointed the feet of Jesus and not Mary Magdalene.

These are just a few of the lies that have been placed within our minds and hearts from childhood.

You may consider some of these things and say ... So, what? What can it hurt if a person does not know there were two of some animals and seven of others that embarked with Noah during the Great Flood? Some may even answer, It doesn't hurt a thing. But, that's because they didn't write the story. What if there is a motive and/or moral for each story.

But as you can see, with examples like the Mary, sister of Martha issue ... Some are very important. Plus, who wants a lie within us about the Bible? How about the one about "Once saved, always saved," (I do hope you choose to read the Salvation study) You can plainly see peoples' souls are on the line, if they believe a lie.

Most Christians allow just about anybody or anything to teach them the Word of God because once they become believers, they have such a passion for it. Problem is ... The information was proven to be lies. We should trust only God's Word. The Bible. We can do this by confirming all that we read and hear with Scripture.

These days, the world is coming up with even more sophisticated lies about the Bible, as if there aren't enough already. The latest is that there is some type of cryptogram or code in the pages of the Bible, and it has unscrambled all sorts of "secrets" that seem to be quite captivating to people. They're making movies about it, and adding all kinds of extra lies for your entertainment and for their pocketbooks. But ... what about the Truth!

The Truth Shall Set You Free Bible Prophecy

What about the Rapture? Another common misconception is that all believers will be Raptured before the End Times.

Revelation 13:7

And it was given unto him [Antichrist] to make war with the Saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Antichrist makes war with the Saints.

This is during his 3½ year reign of terror.

Revelation 14:13

And I heard a voice from Heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

The Truth Shall Set You Free Bible Summary

This statement is made well into the End Times. Why is this so important?

Luke 17:33

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Sometimes we can't see how a little lie cannot hurt us, until it's too late. I caution you, whether you're watching television or movies, reading a book, the newspaper, a magazine, listening to a relative, friend, acquaintance, or even at a religious function, always check your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in Truth.

John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

Don't depend on anyone's word, without checking God's Word.

1 Thessalonians 5:21

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
