This rapture Bible event is a very delicate subject to many Christians as there are many interpretations out there from various "religious scholars" as to the Bible verses about the rapture. The Christian rapture Bible dispute is all about the elusive rapture timing which all agree surrounds or is to occur within a time period known as the tribulation which is a 7 year period of the End Times. Each side would be partially correct. The rapture timing question is ... What if there are two raptures? This is not as strange as it sounds as the Bible is filled with events which man believed was only going to be one event which are later found to be two separate events. Two Comings of the Lord

The first coming (visit) from our Lord was Him representing the Lamb to die for our sins as to Fulfill the Scriptures and Jesus will return again as the Lion when He defeats Antichrist and brings in eternal peace.

When the prophecies in the Bible of Jesus coming to earth were read by the religious leaders, they never considered that there could be two arrivals of their Messiah. One to save them from their sins by way of Grace and another return later which we will discuss more in detail.

They thought there was but one, where the Messiah would come and break the chains and bring peace on earth. They blinded themselves so much because of their limited preset ideas that they crucified Jesus and most Israelites still deny the truth to this very day.

Now, with hindsight which provides us with 20/20 spiritual insight, we can see by reading all of the prophecy Scriptures with no preset ideas that there was not one coming of Jesus, but rather two and it now makes perfect sense.

The Rapture Bible study point is that the religious leaders failed to understand that their belief limited God's plan in their own mind and heart. They could not see that it could be something else, because they were blinded by pride. If they had only required that all rapture Bible verses Scripture be in harmony, they would not have missed the signs. Let us not be so blinded by our limited understanding as to follow the carnal beliefs.

Revelation 20:5-6

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and Holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

This is the Resurrection of the just:

Luke 14:14

And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Then after the 1000 years of peace (Millennium) ...

Revelation 20:7-10

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of Heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Then comes the Great White Throne Judgment where the rest of the dead are resurrected (Second Resurrection) and those not found written in the Book of Life will experience a second death ... Which is eternal.

Revelation 20:11-15

11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the Heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

There are also two Covenants. One is called the Old Covenant and the other is called the New Covenant. As you can see ... God is a God of second chances.

Rapture Prophecy Reveals Two Rapture Timing Events

Let us further explore the possibility of there being two raptures . In this Rapture Bible study we will continue our search while diligently for the elusive rapture timing. In the Book of Revelation, there are symbols used to indicate time periods. We will be looking into these time periods. There are the Seals, Trumpets and Vials ... There are seven of each one.

Now, as we search rapture Bible verses concerning the rapture prophecy, let us look at the time period known as the Seals ... Immediately after the 6th Seal, there is an event that occurs which we will look into on this page. In the book of Revelation, Chapter 7, we find 144,000 people being sealed with the seal of God.

Revelation 7:4-8

4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

These 144,000 receive a mark of protection because they are staying on earth. This seal will protect them from the events that will be occurring on Earth. These 144,000 are God's first fruit, or best of the crop of the Israelites. Even these are left on Earth during some of the End Times events, but are protected. According to other Scripture ... These 144,000 people are all virgin, Jewish, Christian males.

Revelation 14:1-5

1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from Heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Immediately after the 144,000 receive their seal of protection (Revelation 7:4-8) a large number of people, of all races, will suddenly show up in Heaven.

Rapture Bible Verses Study Point of Interest ... When asked by John who these people were, an Angel said that these people are Christians which were taken out of the Great Tribulation that was occurring on Earth.

Revelation 7:9-17

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the Angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

In the Olivet Discourse (Which is Jesus predicting the End Times) it spoke of this Great Tribulation, so, we are given the rapture timing of these Christians going to Heaven.

Matthew 24:21

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

After these events are shared of, it then goes to the 7th Seal. This tells us that many souls of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues will be made white in the Blood of the Lamb (Christians) are taken from the Earth and show up in Heaven in between the 6th and 7th Seal. This is a one of the most important rapture Bible verses that is shared with us in Biblical prophecy concerning the rapture timing.

Here is an event which we can use as a marker of the rapture timing; the 6th Seal speaks of the sun and moon getting dark and the stars falling:

Revelation 6:12-13

12 And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of Heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Next in our Rapture Bible study, let us look at the Olivet Discourse (Jesus speaking of the End Times) to see if there is mention of this event and see if Christians are being taken from Earth to Heaven.

Matthew 24:29-31

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from Heaven, and the powers of the Heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in Heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory.
31 And He shall send His Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of Heaven to the other.

It speaks of the sun and moon turning dark and the stars falling, so we will look from Verse 30 on ... It says that there was a sign in the Heavens and that mankind would mourn and see Jesus coming in the clouds, which is very similar to the 6th Seal.

Revelation 6:15-17

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Immediately after this, we see in the Olivet Discourse that Jesus has His Angels gather His elect (Christians) from the four corners of the Earth.

Matthew 24:31

And He shall send His Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of Heaven to the other.

We see in our Rapture Bible study on the very informative and concerning rapture Bible verses that it goes on to say that two will be in the field and that one will be taken and the other left behind.

This event is known as:

The Rapture

It is when God gathers many of those who chose to believe in Jesus and takes them to Heaven. So, this particular "rapture" ... Takes place between the 6th and 7th Seal. This does not include every Christian though, as you will see.

For many people on Earth will be undecided or double-minded, as far as their belief in Jesus, and there those who are not selected to go to Heaven at this time (for whatever reason God chooses) will encounter an even more frightening chain of events.

Next in our Rapture Bible study, let us look at the time period known as the Trumpets. Remember ... The Trumpets occur after the Seals.

Immediately after the 6th Trumpet (between the 6th and 7th Trumpet), we come to another strange event, just like the first "rapture" that occurs in between the 6th and 7th Seal.

Keep in mind that both events occurred between the 6th and 7th.

We are now at Revelation, Chapter 10. This chapter talks of an Angel, with a book in his hand, that came from Heaven. His message is that there is no longer any time left.

Revelation 10:6

And sware by Him that liveth for ever and ever, who created Heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

He says that in the days of the 7th Trumpet when it shall begin to sound, this "mystery" of God shall be finished.

Revelation 10:7

But in the days of the voice of the seventh Angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as He hath declared to His servants the prophets.

The trick is to find out what the "mystery" is. Here it is:

1 Corinthians 15:51-54

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

It says that the mystery is that we shall not all die, but shall be changed at the sounding of the 7th Trumpet. Those that choose to believe in Jesus will change from mortal to immortal. Here is another Scripture which confirms this:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

It says that the Lord shall descend from Heaven with the Trumpet of God. Those who are alive, will be "caught up" and meet the Lord in the air at this last Trumpet. This is ...

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.

16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

John 6:40

And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise Him up at the last day.

Daniel 12:1-2

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Matthew 24:15-22

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

These two statements in both Daniel and Matthew confirm the timing:

And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Another tidbit of evidence in our Rapture Bible study on the rapture timing and rapture prophecy. The Bible clearly indicates that when a Christian dies ... They take on a new incorruptible form and rise to Heaven at the Last Trumpet.

So, we have people showing up in Heaven in between the 6th and 7th Seal ... and people going up to Heaven in between the 6th and 7th Trumpet.

Hmmmmmmm, strange how they both happen between the 6th and 7th of both time periods, huh? That is because the Number Seven is significant to God. It is the number of completion and time of Rest.
