Reaper Meaning in Bible Study

Is the Grim Reaper in the Bible?

We now know that Antichrist will be an evil world leader that will rule over an empire for 3½ years, that will consist of many countries around Europe, Russia and the Middle East. That sounds a lot like what we see going on around the world today suggesting that Antichrist will show up soon.

Now, before we begin searching the Scriptures about the Biblical Reaper for the answer to the question ... Is the Grim Reaper in the Bible?, I want to take this time to explain this once again. After we learned earlier of the 2nd "Rapture" in between the 6th and 7th Trumpet and the Kingdoms of this world becoming the kingdoms of the Lord.

Reaper Meaning in Bible Pit Stop ... We then learned about the Two Witnesses (Revelation, Chapter 11) The woman in the wilderness (Revelation, Chapter 12) and about Antichrist and his empire (Revelation, Chapter 13). This is very important for you to understand ... Revelation, Chapters 11-13 each speak of a 3½ year period that the Two Witnesses prophecy during, the believing Israelites and Christians are hidden in the wilderness and Antichrist reigns with terror.

All three of these events happen during the same 3½ year time period.

Biblical Reaper Trivia question; Is it coincidence that Jesus the true Christ had a ministry that lasted 3½ years and Anti-Christ will reign terror the same amount of time?

Satan is trying to mirror image what God did as to deceive mankind.

Let us continue the Is the Grim Reaper in the Bible journey into the End Times. The Bible has just shared with you three different events that occur within the same 3½ years period. The Two Witnesses ministry, the Woman hidden in the wilderness and Antichrist reign of terror. In others words ... Revelation, Chapters 11, 12 and 13 are all occurring during the second 3½ years of the seven years of Tribulation.

It is very important for you to understand that the events in Chapter 14 occur before these events.

Now, let us proceed with the Biblical Reaper mystery. We are now in Chapter 14 of the Book of Revelation. It begins by discussing what became of the 144,000 Jewish males that had the mark of God placed in their foreheads. As you recall we learned of these fellas earlier when they received the seal of God.

Revelation 7:3-4

3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Next in on our ... Is the Grim Reaper in the Bible study, we have a Lamb (Jesus) standing on Mount Zion, which is located in Israel and with Him is the 144,000 that were given the seal of God. Remember these were virgin, Jewish, male Christians which are now being "redeemed from the Earth" (taken to Heaven). This is one of the bringing in of the sheep events.

Revelation 14:1-4

1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from Heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

Now these Jewish Christians are on Mount Zion with Jesus, their Shepherd.

Another Angel with the everlasting Gospel told all mankind to fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of judgment had come.

Revelation 14:7

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made Heaven, and Earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Another Angel said Babylon is fallen, because it made all nations to "drink of the wine of her wrath of her sin."

Revelation 14:8

And there followed another Angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Another Angel came and said, if anyone worships Antichrist or the image that is made or takes the mark of Antichrist (which we learned about earlier) would be tormented with fire and brimstone forever.

Revelation 14:9-11

9 And the third Angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the Holy Angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Next in the Grim Reaper Meaning in Bible quest, we are told, blessed are they which die in the Lord from this point on. Does this not further suggest that there are Christians dying for the cause this late in the End Times?

Revelation 14:12-13

12 Here is the patience of the Saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the Faith of Jesus.
13 And I heard a voice from Heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

In other words, when Antichrist demands that you worship him and his image and take the mark, it is better to die than accept his terms, because to say yes, means you go to Hell and then to the lake of fire, forever ... My friend, forever is a long time.

It is time to discuss the Biblical Reaper Meaning in Bible at the event known as the Gathering.

Now, I want to take this opportunity to remind you of this Truth. There will be Christians on Earth dying for the name of Jesus after the Raptures at least up to Chapter 14 in the Book of Revelation. So, if anyone tells you that all Christians will be Raptured and even adds that these Christians will all be Raptured before the End Times ... Is not based upon all Scriptural information available.

Beware ... Because the Bible clearly reveals that their opinion is just not the truth and choosing to believe that theory (Being Biblically unsound) would have Christians feel they need not be prepared for something they will never experience. When in doubt, let God's Word prevail. It is now time to continue our Biblical Reaper Meaning in Bible adventure to find out who is bringing in the sheep at this Reaping and why. Who is the Grim Reaper? Is the Grim Reaper in the Bible? Let's go see:

The Bible shares with us that there is one like the Son of man with a crown on His head (Jesus) and in His hand was a sickle. An Angel tells Him to thrust in His sickle into the Earth and to separate the good people, from the bad:

Revelation 14:14-15

14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
15 And another Angel came out of the Temple, crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

Then another Angel with a sickle comes and gathers the bad people and "casts them into the winepress of the wrath of God." It is said that it will be so bad on Earth that the blood will be up to a horses bridle.

Revelation 14:17-20

17 And another Angel came out of the Temple which is in Heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another Angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to Him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
19 And the Angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Biblical Reaper Meaning in Bible

Wow ... Next in our Biblical Reaper in the Bible study quest for facts, we are now in Chapter 15, Jesus has just gathered His Jewish elect (First Fruits) that were still on Earth and taken them to Heaven. These are they who did not accept the Antichrist or worship him or his image:

Revelation 15:2-4

2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of Saints.
4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art Holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Note that these people were sang the song of Moses (Jewish) and that they were present during the time that Antichrist was enforcing his Mark of the Beast as we discussed in the previous page of this Prepare for End Times adventure. This event is known as the gathering (bringing in of the sheep) and these people show up on the "sea of glass" in Heaven.

This is the same event as the 2nd "Rapture." Let's get back to our Reap Bible Study. Now ... What about this 2 Rapture thing. Why, 2 "Raptures?" It is simple. The first Rapture is for "Gentiles." Check this out:

Revelation 7:9-14

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the Throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the Angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Note that it says all nations and kinds of people show up in Heaven before the throne of God. This means the "Gentiles" (non- Jewish people). Now, remember they also bring in the sheep in the 2nd Rapture as we just discussed:

Revelation 15:2-3

2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of Saints.

Again, in Chapter 14, right before these Jewish people show up in Heaven (Second Rapture), He will gather His "first fruits," which are Jewish people. First fruits are the best sacrifices that were given to God by Israel, in the Old Testament. But, why would God "Rapture" the Gentile believers before he would "Rapture" the Jewish people? The answer is simple. The Jewish people had the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Lord and they had him crucified instead. Gentiles were not accepted into the fold yet. That occurs when the New Covenant takes affect.

Now, we see in our Biblical Reaper in the Bible study that they must encounter Antichrist and many will see Truth and accept Jesus as the Lord, and many Jewish souls will find Truth before the end.

Biblical Reaper Danger
Reaper Meaning in Bible Warning

Reaper Meaning Reminder ... In the first "Rapture" there had been no mention of Antichrist ... This is because the Gospel (Truth of Jesus) was not taught to the "Gentiles" during the time of the Jewish people as for them to be able to accept Him as their Lord until after Jesus' death and resurrection. So the "Gentiles" do not have to experience Antichrist, because they were not aware of the Truth and were not participants of the Time of the Jewish people.

In short, we find within our Biblical Reaper trek for truth that if a "Gentile" believes in Christ, they will be taken to Heaven at the 1st "Rapture" ... The only way Gentiles will experience Antichrist is if they were non-believers (or are called to preach during the End Times even unto death or are the ones that stay hidden as to replenish the Earth as we found to be the Truth).

But, in the 2nd "Rapture:"

Revelation 7:9-14

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Remember: ... This is an important Reaper Meaning in Bible truth. It says that these who were raptured are they who did NOT accept Antichrist, and were brought to Heaven at this "Rapture." which means they were there during Antichrist's 3½ year reign of terror as to have had the choice to accept or deny Antichrist. Pray for the Christian Sheep.

Revelation 15:2

And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

Grim Reaper Meaning in Bible Summary
Is the Grim Reaper in the Bible Truth

See, many people will figure things out as time passes during the End Times, because there will be called Christians with the Truth and will be on Earth preaching to everyone, like the Two Witnesses will be.

In short ... "Gentile" believers will be taken to Heaven, 3½ years before the Jewish people that do not accept Antichrist as their Lord, because there will be preachers such as the Two Witnesses and called Christians who will be exposing the Truth during the End Times and many non-believers will become believers during that 3½ year period at the cost of the lives of those who chose to share Truth with the Lost Souls.

What is the Grim Reaper meaning in Bible Mystery all about? Jesus will be reaping souls who are His. Those non-believers who are left here on Earth will experience God's wrath, which we will look at next, as we continue into, the End Times.

Oh yeah ... Is the Grim Reaper in the Bible? As we have researched to and fro in the Bible, we have discovered that the Grim Reaper could very well be the deliverer of Death which is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse portrayed in the Book of Revelation:

Revelation 6:8

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Yeah, that sounds like the Biblical Grim Reaper. So again, is the Grim Reaper in the Bible? Perhaps in more ways than one. I suppose it depends on one's interpretation of the Grim Reaper and definitely depends on which group you are in when the Reaping Bible event occurs that we read about earlier. I am thinking that the ones who are sifted and thrown into the fire certainly see the Biblical Reaper as being the Grim Reaper. Those who are instead taken to Heaven, know that the Grim Reaper meaning in Bible is a blessing. Either way ... Don't be scared. Be prepared.
