However, the King James Version of the Bible shows the spelling as judgment and not judgement, so I chose to use the KJV Biblical spelling. I hope there is no judgment from the reader.

When is Judgment Day Journey

Most people believe that when the End Times are over ... That's it. However, that is just not the Truth according to the Bible. If you read the Millennium study on the previous page you know that it is 1000 Years of Peace for God's chosen people. It seems from what most express, that most people stopped reading the Book of Revelation after Chapter 19.

So, let us take a look at Chapters 20-22 to know the entirety and end of this matter ... Revelation, Chapter 20 picks up right after the years of Great Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon. After that is the 1000 year period (Millennium) of peace.

In our When is Judgment Day Bible verses voyage, we will look into what the Bible says about the time period after the Millennium because there are some pretty significant events that take place including the Judgment Day.

Before we delve into what happens in the Post Millennium, let's go over the events that lead up to this interesting time period as to recap and refresh our mind.

  • The seven years of the Tribulation during the End Times has passed.
  • Antichrist and the false prophet are in the lake of fire, forever.
  • Satan has been locked up and sealed in the bottomless pit (that's hell to you and me) for a thousand years.

This brings forth the day of Judgment question to mind and heart. What happens to Satan after the 1000 years?

Christian Judgment Day Point of Interest ... Don't for one minute believe that Satan will be sitting like a good little boy in time out, thinking about what he has done for the last six thousand years, and comes out with a new attitude. No way ladies and gentlemen. No pun intended, but there will be no improvement. All joking aside now, did you know that Satan is let out of the pit after the thousand years of the Millennium?

Revelation 20:1-3

1 And I saw an Angel come down from Heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Christian Judgment Day Bible Trivia
When is Judgment Day in the Bible Woe

Now, what do you think has gone on for the thousand years while the devil has been imprisoned? I want to enlighten you about something. Just because Satan is in the bottomless pit, does not mean that there will be no evil in the world. Remember, we all inherit original sin when we're born, and though there is peace on the earth for the thousand years of the Millennium, mankind still has free will.

Mankind will still be capable of sin ... He just won't have the power of Satan enticing and seducing him into sin, but sin will still exist. I have to remind you, even the fallen Angels, who many don't have original sin inherent in them, sinned. So mankind, of whom sin is inherent in, will certainly sin, without Satan's influence.

Another thing to remember is that death and hell are not cast into the Lake of Fire until the day of Judgment, which means, peoples' souls can still go there, who choose the wrong path. You may be under the impression that after the End Times, all will be pure and blissful, and everyone will be sinless, because after all, God does away will all the unbelievers, and cleanses the earth of them during the End Times and Armageddon. And with Satan being locked up at this point and knowing the Day of Judgment is coming ... Well, what could there be to worry about?

Let's take a quick Christian Judgment Day trek for truth ... The Bible says that those who are Raptured will be changed, from mortal to immortal:

1 Corinthians 15:51-56

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Christian Judgment Day Bible Verses
When is Judgment Day in the Bible Mystery

What does this mean? It means that when those who died in Christ and those who are taken in the Rapture are changed from mortal to immortal, death is swallowed up ... In other words, this is the first resurrection, they are resurrected, and they are no longer 'dead.' Paul goes on to say that the sting of death is sin, so one may conclude that there is no more sin for them either.

Paul also tells us another interesting thing:

1 Corinthians 13:9-12

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Let's discern this beautiful Scripture. I will let Paul explain the first sentence in his own words:

1 Corinthians 8:2

And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

But when that which is perfect (Jesus) arrives, our lack of knowledge will be done away with. Just like when you are a child, Paul goes on to say, you could only understand things that a child is capable of understanding, but when you become an adult, you understand more.

Christian Judgment Day Analogy ... Now, picture a two way mirror, like they have in interrogation rooms that you see on television in police stations. If you're on the mirror side, you don't know what's on the other side, but from the other side, you know what's on both sides of the glass. As mortals, our knowledge is limited as well, but those who are changed from mortal to immortal will put away the understanding of a man, and understand all ... They will come out from behind the glass, and see (understand) everything.

However ... What about those who are left here on earth?

Christian Judgment Day Bible Warning
When is the Day of Judgment Bible Concern

Those people left on Earth will not have this perfect knowledge, they will still be mortal. And a thousand years is a long time. People will once again be fruitful and multiply and repopulate the earth, spreading out to the four quarters, and in time, those who choose, will once again stray from the will of God. Do you remember the story of the exodus and how the children of Israel soon forgot the wonders that God performed to free them from slavery in Egypt? Mankind will forget the wonders that God will perform during the End Times as well. Let me give you an example:

Zechariah 14:16-18

16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

As you can see, people will become lackadaisical in their fear of the Lord and neglect the commandments of God.

Let's look at more Christian Judgment Day Truth, shall we?

Revelation 20:7-10

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the Saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of Heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Okay, now remember at the beginning of our ... When is Judgment Day Bible quest, we found out that Satan would be loosed for 'a little season.' How long is a little season? There is only one other scripture in the Bible that uses these exact words.

Revelation 6:9-11

9 And when He had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, Holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

The Judgment Day Tidbit of Truth ... This 'little season' lasted from the 5th seal until the end of Armageddon, which is somewhere between 3½ and 7 years. One can only speculate as to whether the little season that Satan is loosed compares to this duration or not. One thing is for certain, it is long enough for Satan to deceive the nations of the earth and gather them to battle around Jerusalem.

Gog and Magog, who will have a history (in the future) of evildoing against Israel (Ezekiel 39:1-16), will once again be major players in the Post Millennium events, in fact, as you read above, of all the nations on earth only the devastation of these two merit mentioning by name in the Revelation by John. The prophecy of Ezekiel tells about the demise of Gog and Magog:

Ezekiel 38:1-7

1 And the Word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

When is Judgment Day Timeline

God says He will put hooks in the jaws of the leaders of the attack. What does that mean? As an unsuspecting fish, a hook in the jaw would be a surprise. Let's take a quick, The Day of Judgment field trip ... Let me give you a little background before you read what God goes on to say through Ezekiel.

Since the Romans conquered Jerusalem more than 2,000 years ago, the Jewish people had been 'scattered' throughout the lands of the Gentiles, until 1967 when they took back control of Jerusalem. Even today, we know that the people of Israel do no live in 'peace' in the land that God promised to them. Now, back to the future ... Living in the peace of the Millennium ... Ezekiel tells what will happen next, prior to the Day of Judgment:

Ezekiel 38:8-13

8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
10 Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

How do you know this is speaking of the Post Millennium time period? God's people dwell safely in unwalled villages; they are at rest, without walls, bars or gates. Wouldn't you say that describes peace?

Suddenly ... 'Thou shalt think an evil thought.' This is evidence that this is that 'little season' when Satan is loosed. As we learned from Revelation earlier, Satan will deceive and gather many against Israel. Ezekiel describes this as well:

Ezekiel 38:14-16

14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

But, God will be glorified in sight of all and everyone will know that He is God as the Day of Judgment is coming.

Ezekiel 38:17-20

17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.
19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the Heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

Judgment Day Bible Danger
Be Prepared for the Day of Judgment

God will be so angry when all this happens that even fish, birds, and even all creatures that are not human, will tremble along with all of mankind. Then Ezekiel also confirms that fire will rain down from Heaven and devour them ... For the Day of Judgment is coming.

Ezekiel 38:21-23

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Do you suppose 'every sword shall be against his brother' might be a surprise, like a hook in the jaw?

Psalms 9:15

The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

Let us continue our When is Judgment Day Bible journey, shall we? How about some more scripture explaining this same event?

Haggai 2:22

And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

What does all this mean? This means that people will still fall for the devil's old tricks, even after witnessing the End Times ... Jesus' return ... His awesome victory at Armageddon ... The Rapturing of all the Saints ... Innumerable other wonders ... And a thousand years of peace on Earth. Unbelievable? Nope, you just read it ... It's the Truth.

Zephaniah 3:8

Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

When the deceived surround the Holy City, fire will come down from Heaven and devour them ... Just like what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Then ... Satan is thrown into the lake of fire, to be tormented forever.

It is now time for the ... Great White Throne Judgment.

The answer to the question ... When is Judgment Day? It is at this point and time in our reading of the Bible that it occurs. After the End Times are over and the 1000 year time period known as the Millennium has passed, it is time for the Great White Throne Judgment. It is the time to eternally punish the ones who chose not to believe in Jesus and to reward those who knew the Truth and chose to follow it.

Most everyone has heard the term 'The Judgment Day' before. Most of us picture in our minds, standing before God with a big white wall that displays every sin we ever committed in our lives. Well, nobody knows if that's exactly what the Day of Judgment will be like or not, but let's see how the Bible answers the questions as what the Judgment day will be like.

But, before we do ... Here is something very important to remember.

Jesus spoke these unforgettable words:

Matthew 7:1

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Christian Judgment Day No-No
When is Judgment Day Truth

Paul talks about this too ... That we all sin, so to judge another, is just like convicting ourselves.

Romans 2:1-11

1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

Jesus said:

Matthew 12:36-37

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

As we sojourn along in our, When is Judgment Day Bible verses study looking into the Day of Judgment is coming passages, the Bible gives us words of admonishment from the Apostle Peter about the Judgment Day:

2 Peter 2:9-22

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 Whereas Angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the Holy Commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The Great White Throne Judgment in the Book of Revelation:

Revelation 20:11-15

11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the Heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Christian Judgment Day Clock
When is Judgment Day Coming

Let's take the Judgment Day Bible verses, one at a time and discuss each one as to get a better idea of how things will happen, when the Judgment Day Bible event arrives.

Revelation 20:11

And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the Heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

It's a little hard to imagine, but at the time of the Great White Throne Judgment aka the Judgment Day Bible warning, the earth and the Heaven, the ones that God created alllllll the way back in Genesis, flee away ... They are needed no longer.

The Apostle Peter also describes that just as the earth was destroyed by the Great Flood, it awaits destruction by fire on the Day of Judgment:

2 Peter 3:7

But the Heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

The next verse in our, When is Judgment Day Bible verses truthful trek yet again, reveals that God judges the people:

Revelation 20:12

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the Books, according to their works.

Beware the Day of Judgment is coming. If one's name is not written in the Book of Life ... They are going to the lake of fire on the Judgment Day.

Revelation 3:5

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His Angels.

Revelation 13:8

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

In the next verse of the Judgment Day Bible verses ... The rest of the dead souls were brought up out of hell.

Revelation 20:13

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

So ... The souls of the unbelievers in hell are brought before God to be judged next at the Day of Judgment and even hell itself is cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:14

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

We see then in our, When is Judgment Day Bible teaching that the first death is the death of the body or the flesh.

The second death is at the Great White Throne Judgment on the Judgment Day, for those who don't overcome.

You may have never thought that something that isn't in our physical realm could be thrown into the lake of fire, but at the Great White Throne Judgment, God tosses death and hell in there ... That is to say that there will be no more death ... Or hell after that, because those who have overcome will have eternal life.

Revelation 20:15

And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Judgment Day Book of Life
When is Judgment Day and Lake of Fire

Anyone who's name isn't in the Book of Life, goes to the lake of fire. The Day of Judgment is coming ... Don't be mistaken. Now, just because these are souls that are going there, just like death and hell are not tangible things, neither is a soul, but if you are under the impression that once a soul goes to the Lake of Fire, it is burned up and all the pain and agony ends ...

You are mistaken, because the Bible clearly states that:

Revelation 14:9-11

9 And the third Angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the Holy Angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

And:

Revelation 20:10

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

It is obvious that the souls that end up in the lake of fire are tormented day and night forever.

On the other hand ... Those who are written in the Book of Life ... Will live forever.

The Apostle John tells us that if we live in the love of Christ and follow His way, we can have confidence in the day of judgment:

1 John 4:17

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.

The prophet Daniel also wrote of his vision of the Great White Throne Judgment:

Daniel 7:9-14

9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool: His throne was like the fiery flame, and His wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of Heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him.
14 And there was given Him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Christian Judgment Day Bible Vow
When Is Judgment Day Going to Be Over

Still worried about that big white wall after reading our ... Judgment Day Bible verses study revealing the truth that the Day of Judgment is coming?

Do not forget about God's Grace.

Love is also something that we should never neglect, because it may also be part of our saving Grace.

1 Peter 4:8

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Proverbs 10:12

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

And above all ...

John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

Alleluia!

Though the world is in quite a mess, and we as Christians await the Day of the Lord with anticipation, because of our longing to be with Jesus, we are not to hope for it to get here.

The Bible says:

Amos 5:18-20

18 Woe unto you that desire the Day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

Always remember that we are not to look forward to such a day where so many souls who made the ultimate poor choice will be sentenced to eternal suffering, even if we believe ourselves to be in the clear. One never knows how not having empathy for another could get us in trouble. Who was it that said ... Love thy enemies?

So again ... The Christian Judgment Day takes place at the Great White Throne which is a place where the Day of Judgment is going to take place. God will judge everyone. The Book of Life is opened to see who will enter Heaven and who will go to the lake of fire to be tormented forever. Those who were not written in the Book of Life are thrown into the ... Lake of fire forever.

Those who are written in the Book of Life will live forever with God.

Then, God will create a New Heaven and New Earth, for the present Heaven and Earth are passed away and there is no more sea.

God will create a New Heaven and New Earth? But, why? Ponder on this ... Heaven and Earth were created in the beginning:

Genesis 1:1-2

1 In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

It is also written that God will make the earth void again:

Jeremiah 4:22-27

22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the Heavens, and they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the Heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by His fierce anger.
27 For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

And then He will create a New Heaven and New Earth, just as He did in the Book of Genesis.

Isaiah 65:17

For, behold, I create New Heavens and a New Earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Just as He has said He would after the Millennium.

Revelation 21:1

And I saw a New Heaven and a New Earth: for the first Heaven and the first Earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

It is obvious that the earth somehow becomes without form and void and God said He was going to do so, but that He would not make a full end of the Earth. He said that He would make a New Heaven and New Earth.

Could this mean renewed?

Christian Judgment Day Bible Renewal
When Is Judgment Day Regeneration

Here is an excellent question ... What if God regenerates the earth in set time cycles as to cleanse the earth as these Scriptures seem to suggest?

This method of cleansing and recreating Heaven and Earth appears to happen every 7000 years according to Scripture. See the 7000 Year Study at the end of this page to learn more.

Revelation, Chapter 21-22 reveals what it will be like. I will let the Bible speak for itself because nobody could explain it as well as it is described there.

Revelation, Chapter 21

1 And I saw a New Heaven and a New Earth: for the first Heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be His God, and He shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven Angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the Holy Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve Angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the Angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

Revelation 22:1-7

1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:
4 And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the Holy Prophets sent His Angel to shew unto His servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

  • God will then dwell with mankind: Revelation 21:3
  • There shall be no more tears, death, sorrow or pain: Revelation 21:4
  • He that overcomes, shall inherit all things and become a child of God: Revelation 21:7
  • The New Jerusalem will be beautiful: Revelation 21:10-22
  • The city will not need the sun or moon, for God is the light: Revelation 21:23
  • A river of life flows from God's throne through the land and the Tree of Life will bare 12 manners of fruit, and the leaves from the tree will be used for healing: Revelation 22:1-2
  • And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. Revelation 22:5
