Welcome back if you have been sojourning with us on the End Times path. We have just read of the Christian Millennium which is 1000 years of Peace on Earth because Antichrist and the false prophet are in the Lake of Fire and Satan has been bound in chains and cast into the Bottomless pit for the same 1000 year time period.

Most people believe that when these events shared in the Biblical End Times passages are over, that is it. The Finale. The end of the story. However, you will discover in this Post Millennium journey into the future that the Bible contradicts that ideology. The reason is simple. The Book of Revelation prophecy continues after the Millennium.

It is almost as though some people started to read the book of Revelation, but stopped before reading the last couple of chapters and as you know, that is not any way to know the true end of a story. In fact, the Post Millennium events are absolutely awe inspiring and it will bring a smile to the lips and heart. Though you have access to many Pre Millennium events within our End Times program, by way of links on this page, this particular Post Millennium meaning study focuses on the SON-derful Post Millennium events and what the Bible says about this glorious Post Millennium time period and seek what happens after the Millennium where God creates a New Heaven and New Earth. Yes, you read that correctly. But, let's take a step back.

What Happens After the Millennium Events

Let's have a lil End Times recap and take a look at Revelation, Chapters 20-22 ... Revelation, Chapter 20 picks up right after the years of Great Tribulation and the battle of Armageddon. The Bible has just completed teaching us about the Pre Millennium events and after the 1000 year period (Millennium) of peace, it's time for the ... Post Millennium Events to occur:

Here is a Post Millennium events prophecy shared by God through the prophet Isaiah:

Isaiah 65:17

For, behold, I create New Heavens and a New Earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

That is exactly what the Book of Revelation says is what happens after the Millennium:

Revelation 21:1

And I saw a New Heaven and a New Earth: for the first Heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

That is one of the most significant End Times events that will take place, wouldn't you say? And it takes place after Millennium. This Brings forth this Post Millennial events question to mind and heart ... What happens to Satan who was in the pit after the 1000 year Millennium?

What Happens After the Millennium to Satan

Don't for one minute believe that Satan will be sitting like a good little boy in time out, thinking about what he has done for the last six thousand years, and comes out with a new attitude. No pun intended, but according to what happens after the Millennium Biblical facts, there will be no improvement in his behavior. All joking aside now, Satan is let out of the pit after the thousand years of the Millennium.

Revelation 20:1-3

1 And I saw an Angel come down from Heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Now, what do you think has gone on for the thousand years while the devil has been imprisoned? I want to enlighten you about something. Just because Satan is in the bottomless pit, does not mean that there will be no evil in the world. Remember, we all inherit Original Sin when we are born, and though there is peace on the earth for the thousand years during Millennium, mankind still has the ability to make choices. This is called Free Will.

Mankind will still be capable of sin ... He just won't have the whispers of Satan enticing and seducing him into sin, while Satan is imprisoned, but sin will still exist. I have to remind you, even the fallen Angels, who don't have original sin inherent in them, sinned. So mankind, of whom sin is inherent in, will certainly sin, even without Satan's influence.

Another thing to consider is that death and hell are to be cast into the lake of fire until Judgment Day, which means, peoples' souls can still go there, who choose the wrong path.

Revelation 20:14

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

What Happens After the Millennium To Humans

You may be under the impression that after Millennium, all will be pure and blissful, and everyone will be sinless, because after all, God does away will all the unbelievers, and cleanses the earth of them during the End Times and Armageddon. And with Satan locked up ... Well, what could there be to worry about? I am going to show you some Truth that reveals that many are mistaken by this belief.

Let's take a quick Post Millennium detour back before the Millennium ... Now, the Bible does say that those Christians who are Raptured will be changed, from mortal to immortal:

1 Corinthians 15:51-56

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

What does this mean? It means that when those who died in Christ, and those who are taken in the Raptures are changed from mortal to immortal, death is swallowed up ... In other words, this is the first resurrection, they are resurrected, and they are no longer 'dead.' Paul goes on to say that the sting of death is sin, so one may conclude that there is no more sin for them either.

Paul also tells us another interesting thing:

1 Corinthians 13:9-12

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Let's interpret this beautiful Scripture. I'll let Paul explain the first sentence in his own words:

1 Corinthians 8:2

And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

But, when that which is perfect (Jesus) arrives, our lack of knowledge will be done away with. Just like when you were a child, Paul goes on to say, you could only understand things that a child is capable of understanding, but when you become an adult, you understand more. Now picture a two way mirror, like they have in interrogation rooms that you see on television in police stations. If you're on the mirror side, you don't know what's on the other side, but from the other side, you know what's on both sides of the glass. As mortals, our knowledge is limited as well, but those who are changed from mortal to immortal will put away the understanding of a man, and understand all ... They will come out from behind the glass, and see (understand) everything.

Post Millennium Events Quiz time ... What about those Christians who inherited the earth? Those Christians on earth will not have this perfect knowledge, they will still be mortal. And a thousand years is a long time. People will once again be fruitful and multiply and repopulate the earth, spreading out to the four quarters, and in time, those who choose, will once again stray from the will of God. Do you remember the story of the exodus and how the children of Israel soon forgot the wonders that God performed to free them from slavery in Egypt? Mankind will forget the wonders that God will perform during the End Times as well.

Let me give you an example:

Zechariah 14:16-18

16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

As you can see, some people will become lackadaisical in their fear of the Lord and neglect the commandments of God. Let's look at more Post Millennium events, shall we?

Revelation 20:7-10

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the Saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

What Happens After the Millennium - Gog and Magog

Okay, another small detour ... Remember at the beginning of our Post Millennium Meaning study, we found out that Satan would be loosed for 'a little season?' How long is a little season? We seek the answer because that will be how long it is from the time Satan is released to the time he is cast into the Lake of Fire forever. Oh wait getting ahead of myself. There is only one other Scripture in the Bible that uses the exact words 'a little season.'

Revelation 6:9-11

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

This 'little season' lasted from the 5th seal until the end of Armageddon, which is somewhere between 3½ and 7 years. One can only speculate as to whether the little season that Satan is loosed compares to this duration or not. One thing is for certain, it is long enough for Satan to deceive the nations of the earth and gather them to battle around Jerusalem. Gog and Magog, who will have a history (in the future) of evildoing against Israel (Ezekiel 39:1-16), will once again be major players in the Post Millennium events, in fact, as you read above, of all the nations on earth only the devastation of these two merit mentioning by name in the Revelation by John. The prophecy of Ezekiel tells about the demise of Gog and Magog in the Post Millennium events.

Ezekiel 38:17-20

17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.
19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the Heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

God will be so angry when all this happens that even fish, birds, and even all creatures that are not human, will tremble along with all of mankind. Then Ezekiel also confirms that fire will rain down from Heaven and devour them.

Ezekiel 38:21-23

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Do you suppose "every sword shall be against his brother" might be a surprise, like a hook in the jaw?

Psalms 9:15

The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

How about some more scripture explaining this same event?

Haggai 2:22

And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

When those who were deceived by Satan surround the Holy City, fire will come down from Heaven and devour them ... Just like what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah.

What does all this mean? This Post Millennium tidbit of truth means that people will still fall for the devils old tricks, even after witnessing the End Times Tribulation, Jesus' return, His awesome victory at Armageddon, the Rapture of all the Saints, Innumerable other wonders and a thousand years of peace on earth. They will still choose to hear and adhere to Satan's whispers. Unbelievable is it not?

Then after the Post Millennium events, Satan is thrown into the lake of fire, to be tormented forever. Best part of the Post Millennium events ... God will be glorified in the sight of all and everyone will know that He is God.
