Are there any similarities between the Mayan Calendar prophecy and Biblical Prophecy? How do the Mayan Calendar and the Bible compare? The Mayan Calendar is a perfect example of a potential false prophecy and/or incorrect interpretation of prophecy. The Mayan prophecy predicted that there would be an End of the World and a New World Order would come into place on December 21, 2012 AD ... They were wrong. Or were they? I know that sounds weird, but bear with me.

This Mayan prophecy is close to many other prophecies out there including Biblical prophecy especially when you are discussing the End Times. It is very similar to the 7000 Year Bible Timeline prophecy. Another issue to consider is that the Calendar itself has been changed many times, over the last two thousand years, (since our Lord's death and Resurrection) by different entities and nations that came into power, which makes it very difficult and maybe impossible to determine exactly how many days have passed from then to date, as to find out the exact day, which was probably God's plan, since He said we would not know what day it would be.

Matthew 24:36

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the Angels of Heaven, but my Father only.

The Bible also reveals that day will come as a thief in the night for the unprepared:

2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

However, the Bible further reveals in the same sermon, given by Jesus (known as the Olivet Discourse), that we are to watch and to be prepared, so that day does not come upon us as a thief in the night, by watching for the signs of the End Times.

Matthew 24:42-44

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

There have been so many changes that it would be impossible to track down the exact date as to properly explain the Mayan Calendar facts.

Our Mayan Bible Prophecy voyage with the Mayan Calendar and the Bible comparison clearly reveals that we need to beware the Mayan Calendar prophecy. It could still be genuine and the problem is merely the misinterpretations and changes to calendar or it could very well be yet another false prophecy. Time will tell.
