What is a Pharisee

The Pharisees in Jesus' day were people who studied the law very very carefully and condemned those who didn't follow every letter. They were not very forgiving and they persecuted Jesus because He taught forgiveness and love and faith.

There are still Pharisees in today's day and age. They look down on sinners and judge others. We are all sinners, so we must be kind and help each other to be more careful in our lives.

Jesus said "Woe" to the scribes and Pharisees of His time, and called them hypocrites, because they were so judgmental and condemning, while they themselves were just as sinful, and worse.

Jesus said, Judge not, lest ye be judged.
