The Life of Jesus Christ Story

Jesus Christ Bible Verses

Who is Jesus the Christ? Jesus Christ is the Son of God. To begin to share with you the life of Jesus Christ story, we must understand why God was forced to sacrifice His Son. The reason was to establish a New Covenant with His chosen people.

What is a Covenant?

A "Covenant" is an agreement between two parties. In this case, the agreement was between God and His Chosen people. It was based on LAW and was given to the people by God, through Moses. The Old Testament is based on this Old Covenant and the New Testament represents the New Covenant.

Before Jesus the Christ was born, back in the days of Moses, God had made a Covenant (Agreement) with His people. In this Covenant, the people who had sinned, would have to sacrifice their best animals to God to cleanse their sins as to be forgiven.

In this Covenant ritual, the blood of the sacrificed animals was sprinkled on the people to establish the Old Covenant. (Kind of like a blood pact between friends). This was the OLD Covenant between God and mankind. It was a Blood Covenant and the blood of the animals would cleanse away the sins of the people.

Leviticus 17:11

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

As time passed, God saw that His people just kept on sinning more and more and the sins were becoming worse and worse. So, God said that He would make a New Covenant and because the sins of His people was so abundant, that He would have to make an ultimate Blood Sacrifice as to save His people, just as He required of His people in the Old Covenant.

God chose to send His only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ, to die on the Cross (John 3:16-17) to be the Blood Sacrifice for the people's sins. It was this Blood of Jesus sacrifice which alone had the power to save God's people and give us all a shot at eternal life. Jesus the Christ offers us an opportunity to receive Salvation.

Jesus died for sins to be forgiven unto all generations. He laid down His own life to save ours. He was crucified upon a wooden Cross. Three days after after He died on the Cross, Jesus was resurrected (came back to life again. We still celebrate this most precious and holy day. This day is now called Easter by many who celebrate the event.

In the absolute awe inspiring New Covenant, for someone to be forgiven and ultimately be able to enter Heaven, you merely have to BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for our sins, and that He rose from the dead and that He will return. Jesus the Christ is the Savior of the world.

That being said, we will focus on the New Covenant a bit more. Our Father told us in the Bible that we will know that He is God because He tells us things that will happen before they occur. He is the God of prophecy.

Isaiah 46:9-11

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

The Life of Jesus Christ Story Plot

Jesus Christ Bible Verses Meaning

The Bible makes it quite clear that God reveals His plan to the various prophets over time and these prophets are then to share the prophecy with God's people.

Amos 3:7

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the Prophets.

2 Peter 1:21

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Revelation 19:10

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Jesus Christ Story Trivia ... This brings up a question to mind and heart. Did God give a prophecy of the coming of this New Covenant? Let's go see. After enduring his chosen people's continual sinning over the first few thousand years, God made this prophetic proclamation:

Jeremiah 31:31-34

31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Zechariah 11:10-14

10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.
11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord.
12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.
14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

The Life of Jesus Christ Story Plan

Prophetic Jesus Christ Bible Verses

God tells us that due to the overwhelming sin of mankind that He will destroy His Old Covenant with His people. He even actually foretold the timing that the Old Covenant would end and the New Covenant would begin. He said that at that time, His people would consider His value as being ... 30 pieces of silver (which is exactly the amount of money that the Jewish Religious leaders paid Judas to betray Jesus).

WOW !!! God prophesied through these various prophets, hundreds of years before the event occurred. God knew the people would trade Him up for worldly matters and even foretold of the exact amount that they would trade Him up for. How awesome is that? Jesus the Christ Tidbit of Truth ... The Truth that He had accomplished His New Covenant is confirmed for us in Scripture found within the New Testament:

Hebrews 8:6-8

6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

God said that He looked down on Earth and He could not find one soul that had done good. No, not one.

Psalms 14:2-3

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Did you know that Psalm 14 and Psalm 53 say virtually the same words? Just a little interesting fact for you.

The Life of Jesus Christ Story Vows

Marriage of Jesus Christ Bible Verses

Think of it this way ... The Old Covenant is kinda like a bride who married a man and obeyed out of fear and obligation, but lacked a foundation of Love ... The Marriage failed just as many marriages on earth do now for the same reasons. The result is Divorce ... A marriage based on fear and obligation is as nothing compared to one based on love. The marriages with a foundation of love can overcome all trials and tribulations the world will throw at em. It is eternal.

In this renewed Covenant ... It is different in that the bride would choose to obey their husband because they loved Him. The foundation is to be based on love and Faith because of what He has done for them. He sacrificed His life so that those that He loved might live. This Spiritual REAL-ationship will prove to be worthy and eternal even unto the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

Jesus is the Mediator of the New Covenant

Hebrews 8:6

But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He (Jesus) is the mediator of a better Covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Hebrews 9:14-16

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Hebrews 12:24-25

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
