Jesus, also known as The Word of God, is God made flesh. We call the Bible "The Word of God" because it is God's Word, manifested, or made alive to us, just as Jesus was. We identify with Jesus because He became man, like we are (we are made in His image), but before He was born in the flesh, Jesus always existed with God.

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God ...
And the Word, was God.

1 John 5:7

For there are three that bear record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and The Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Revelation 1:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Jesus was present at the beginning and He will be at the end. As we just discovered, Jesus always existed infinitely with God, and we know He is eternal, so this beginning and end is also our beginning and end.

The Alpha

In the beginning, God created man.

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness ...

God was talking to Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

These are some great studies that explain this more:

The will of God is that we glorify Him.

Isaiah 43:7

Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Isaiah 45:5-7

5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

Isaiah 46:9-10

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure ...

As you know, right from the beginning, sin entered the world and people found it difficult to live righteously, but God chose a special people (Israel) and made a Covenant with them. Before Jesus first visit, was the Old Testament. This was the 'time' of the Jewish people to accept God as their Savior.

Exodus 19:5

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my Covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine ...

God gave Moses His law for the people and said:

Deuteronomy 4:5-9

5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon Him for?
8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons.

Trust in God Bible Study on Grace

Trusting in God Bible Verses Hope

Knowing that sin was inherent in all people, God provided His chosen people with laws of sacrifice to cleanse their sins. But eventually, mankind turned away from the laws of God, so much so, that all the sacrificing in the world wouldn't cleanse away the sin.

During this time, God sent many messages through His Prophets that one day the Messiah would come and deliver them from sin. Isaiah, Chapter 53 reveals this very clearly.

God says that you will know that He is God, because He uses Prophecy (telling the future) as a way to prove that He is Lord.

Amos 3:7

Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.

Isaiah 46:9-10

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure ...

Then God sent Jesus, and through the shedding of Jesus' Blood, brought in the New Testament which is what you read in the Bible but it also brought in the New Covenant: By simply believing in Jesus' life, death and resurrection, and that He is the Son of God, we need only repent and our sins are forgiven and we are saved (we attain everlasting life). No more sacrifices are needed. Jesus was the last sacrifice, once for all. This is known as Grace

The Jewish people (Israel) didn't accept Jesus as their Savior and they crucified Him. There is a time period mentioned in the Bible known as the Time of the Gentiles:

Luke 21:24

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

The Time of the Gentiles is a time which is after Jesus' death but before the End Times which is a time where Gentiles (people from any nation other than Israel) have been given the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior. Any Jewish people who accept Jesus as their Savior are saved. The time that we live in now is the time of the Gentiles. It is believed that the "Time of the Gentiles" would be the same length of time as the Jewish time period.

So, how do we glorify God during our lifetime to attain eternal life? We glorify God by glorifying His Son, Jesus Christ our Savior.

1 John 5:10-13

10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The Omega

In the end, Jesus will return.

Psalms 110:1

The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

John 5:21-23

21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom He will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent Him.

1 Corinthians 15:24-28

24 Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For He hath put all things under His feet. But when He saith all things are put under Him, it is manifest that He is excepted, which did put all things under Him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

Our Who is God Bible study is discovering that God created us. He has chosen to bring us back to Him through Jesus. God is eternal. God created us in His image, and though we have a beginning and an end on this earth, we will end where we began, with God and Jesus.

Isaiah 41:4

I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am He.

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

John 3:16

For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jeremiah 31:3

I have Loved thee with an everlasting Love.

Who would let their Son be killed so a world full of sinners could live forever?

God

He Loves you so very very much!

Our Trust in God Bible study reveals that the answer to the "Who is God" Bible question is ... Everything from A to Z! The mysterious Who is God Bible verses prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is our Eternal Heavenly Father.
