N Korea threatens military action

North Korea says it has abandoned the truce that ended the Korean war, amid rising tension in the region.

It blamed its decision on South Korea joining a US-led initiative to search ships for nuclear weapons.

It said the South's actions were a "declaration of war", and pledged to attack if its ships were stopped.

The move is part of an increasingly hard line being taken by North Korea, and comes two days after it conducted an underground nuclear test.

Meanwhile, South Korean news reports say that steam has been seen coming from a plant at the North's main nuclear facility, a sign that it has made good on its threat to restart efforts to make weapons-grade plutonium.

The United Nations Security Council is working on a strong resolution condemning North Korea's actions, including possible punitive measures.

Anti-proliferation

In a statement to the North's official news agency, KCNA, the military warned that it no longer considered itself bound by the terms of a truce which ended the war between the two Koreas.

That agreement has preserved a tense peace for more than five decades.

The immediate cause of North Korea's actions, it said, was South Korea's announcement on Tuesday that it would definitely join the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) - a US-led campaign to search ships carrying suspicious cargoes to prevent trafficking of weapons of mass destruction.

Joining the PSI "is a natural obligation", South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan told reporters. "It will help control North Korea's development of dangerous material."

But North Korea's response has been unequivocal.

"Any hostile act against our peaceful vessels, including search and seizure, will be considered an unpardonable infringement on our sovereignty," a spokesman for the North's army told KCNA.

"We will immediately respond with a powerful military strike."

Tensions have already risen significantly across the Korean peninsula in recent weeks.

North Korea is not the big picture.

It is a little country, it can do some damage,

but . . . . . . .

I think of how we in our selfish way can each think we are the big picture, everything revolves around us and has to answer to us.

And a psychopath so much moreso be and act like he or she is the big picture.

And North Korea is maybe what we can say is a psychopath country. If you could put a whole country into jail . . . . . . .

But if you can pray for a person and the person comes to Jesus > well, North Korea is small > we can pray for North Korea and see God do His good.

And remember . . . we have brothers and sisters of Jesus in North Korea. North Korea is not about the dictator and it having the worlds' fourth biggest military (if I remember right); but there are Christian people here in North Korea, and we care about you there and love you and can enjoy your companionship in love and prayer, though we do not see you.

"whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory." (1 Peter 1:8)

So . . . seeing is not loving.

And I have, this morning been, blessed with something I have noticed about being a Christian. As I have recently gone through things, I have come out of things finding out how I am going to love, instead of like how I used to come out of a thing with more and more formed attitudes about how I would not trust and now how I would deal with certain people to keep them under my control so they could not hurt me or cheat me etc. Now, I can more be into how I am going to become as a loving person after I have gone through something.

I have been dumped by women I love, recently, and I come out of it with, "hmmm, now I know more about how things can be for a woman, so now I can be more sensitive and caring with *each* and *every* woman, knowing there can be these things she might be going through." So, it's not about if I get what I want with a lady, now, as much as it used to be. It's more about how God wants me to become loving with all people. And, of course, how I will be loving and sharing with God, more and better, personal with You, however You really want.

And so . . . like this, with North Korea . . . let's be finding out how in this matter God will have us finding out how to love. And let's give North Korea and its president and the everyday North Koreans who approve of his ways > let's give these people to God, and be looking forward to how our Father will surprise us with how things will turn out.

This country is acting like it is a mosquito that needs to be swatted, yes I would say so; but . . . we have God. We need to not allow evil to decide and define us and how we feel about and relate with North Korea > "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21)

As we continue to pray for the North Koreans.........there are many many Christians, many persecuted and killed for the cause.....lets also continue to pray for the South and their peoples. We also have some 28,500 American soldiers posted there, at this time, on high alert, as a result of threats posted by the North's government. God is in control. Keep them ALL in prayer. God's will be done.
