Some of you all know that I love to be all friendly and forward with people, and I hate to hurt their feelings. But some of you also know that I can be "too friendly" and "too forward". People might think that you can never be too friendly, they are right. What I mean is, don't overload people with it before you get to know them and their boundaries. And don't be afraid to ask what their boundaries are. It is soo much better to ask and know, then to not ask and overload them. And yes, we will slip up. But at that point you just need to ask for forgiveness first from God (if that applies, i am not too sure when you should. just do what God says) and then ask for their forgiveness. They won't always warm up to yo or forgive you, but trust me, it is sooo much better to just let them decide instead of just apologizing over and over and over again. It could just break your heart. Give them the choice, don't force something out of them. It WILL cause you pain. And when that happens, just give it time and ask God for some help. But (there is always a but lol) my intructions are invalid when God is telling you to do something. Just follow God, and He will never fail you. Even if you feel as if you did go to far because you listened to God, you didnt. In fact, something good will come out of it. SO CHIN UP EVERYONE! TO sum this all up, be respectful of other people's spaces.

I concur!

You know...we should indeed all strive to be friendly with all we encounter but I agree wholeheartedly about knowing and respecting boundaries.

A female friend of mine from church is presently separated. My sister and I really love this dear sister and I like her husband as well. I understand how complicated relationship matters can be and RESPECT boundaries. When this sister and I spoke via Facebook, I suggested that if she ever felt like talking or needed a shoulder to cry on, my sister (one of my ACTUAL BIRTH SISTERS) would be happy to meet her anywhere.

I think the story of Joseph and Potipher's wife in Exodus truly supports knowing and respecting boundaries. Joseph was a good and Godly servant. His master Potipher fully entrusted him with his affairs. Potipher's wife had desires for Joseph. When he refused her advances this scorned woman of privilege didn't like that too much. One day, Joseph and Potipher's wife were alone in his master's house. If you're familiar with this story, you'll remember the scorned wife grabbed hold and took a garment of Joseph's and accused him of immoral advances. A key thing to take from this account is for us to no and respect boundaries and not to allow our self to be in a situation that could have adverse effects.

Great post!
