A daily reminder what Christ has done for us.
This is the tesitmony of each child of our Lord's.
When God searches the sinner and tries him, to call his sins to remembrance, sets them all in order before him, and charges the sinner's crimes home to his mind and conscience, by an application of His holy law, sin becomes exceeding sinful and exceeding heavy.
The law working wrath and condemnation, he stands guilty, falls to the dust and dares not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven.
To this broken and contrite one, God draws him to his only hope and refuge. The Lord Jesus Christ calls such a person to Himself, and describes him as laboring and heavy laden, and promises to give him rest, both from his labor and from his heavy burden.
When this sinner who has been laid to the dust, having been judged by the law, confesses or agrees with God, how exceedingly sinful he truly is, agrees with God how terrible sin (which is the breaking of His law) actually is, yes, when this one acknowledges to God how unclean and vile he really is in His Holy presence, and cries out from the pit of despair, how that there is in no way that he could possibly pay for such a mountain of debt, as his sins truly are against his Creator and Judge, that he soon cries out
"Lord, Save me"...
"Lord, Forgive me"...
"Lord, I Confess, I am a Sinner, I am Unrighteous, please forgive me, please be merciful to me a sinner"...
"Lord, if You will, please make me whole, please clothe me with Your Righteousness, please make me one of Your children"....
"Oh Lord, Please give me Your faith, a faith that never fails, Your Life, a life of peace and joy and love that never ends"...
"Please cleanse me from my sins with Your blood, please wash me and clothe me. I have nothing to pay, I have nothing to give, all I can say, is 'Here I am, do with me, what You will'"
This broken and contrite sinner who confesses his unworthiness and sinfulness before God, who comes to Christ for forgiveness, who comes to the Cross, where God and sinners meet, who sees that he should be there, not Christ, who knows he is the guilty one, not the Sinless Lamb, who knows he deserves the punishment, not the Son of God;
This sinner who sees that Christ was crucified for him, is the one whose eyes have been opened, he is the one in whom the Son has been revealed and confesses along with all the other saints..."Oh what a precious Savior we have...Oh what a cleansing power there is in His precious blood...Oh what a perfect payment for all our sins...Oh thank You, thank You, thank You for so great a salvation as this!!!"
This new born child of God, this new creation in Christ, knows his sins have been forgiven, he knows the joy of having his burden lifted and cast away into the depths of the seas, never to be remembered no more.
He knows his sins have been blotted out forever, and will never be held against him, having been placed upon His Lord and Savior.
He knows "Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin."
