My first fasting experience
1/5/09
Today was my first day back at work since Dec. 18th, 2008. It was a little tough to make myself get out of bed. I started the day with prayer. I asked God to help me focus on him all day and no matter what came my way that I would be granted the strength to handle it. I asked him to help me get rid of any bitterness or hatred I had towards anyone at the office. I read a little bit of my bible and then got ready for work. Several times during the day I was able to put my morning prayer to good use. I treated bitterness as a spirit and told it to go away in the name of Jesus. It did and that allowed me to have one of the best days at work I have had in a long time. I prayed all throughout the day for God's help and blessings towards many different things. All of it helped, I can't believe I have gone my whole life up until now disobeying God. I cannot believe how much I have been missing out on! I finished my work day and savored every minute of it. I even stayed after when normally I would have jetted out the door. Overall it was a pretty descent day. Nothing really happened when I got home. I played with the dogs, read my bible, did my bedtime routine. I am suprised at how much self-control I have had. All glory goes to God, because thats who I asked to help me in the first place. He is such an amazing God. Im so glad Im on his team. Im sorry that todays journal isnt as long as saturday and sundays. I dont have as much time on my hands during the work week. I have to keep reminding myself that its not about how much I can accomplish, but how obediant I am to God. So far I think Ive done a pretty good job. Im learning so much. Cant wait to see what tommorrow brings!
