a precious woman

I remember when I first met her, my thoughts were, "Precious, this one is just precious." I loved her from that moment on. I loved her before, but at that moment as if something connected the two of us, deep inside. I was now hers.

Her soft hugs. I could melt into her arms and stay there forever.

Her gentle voice uncovered her gentle spirit.

Every word she spoke, I took as gold. I knew our moments together were short. Which made my spirit long for her company even more.

The words she shared still echo in my heart and help me through my struggles.

If I could of boxed her up and took her home with me, I would have.

In a way I did. She gave me a million little boxes of cheerios for the kids. The stack is mighty thin now. Each time I hand a box out, I think of her.

She has no idea how much that short amount of time spent together meant to me. At the picnic table, near the woods, by a lake, in Illinois.

LJD you mean the world to me.
You've crawled inside my heart.
Where I will hold you forever.
And love you as if you are my own.
You are precious to me my dear friend.

Is it foolish to cry because such a dear friend is so far away?
It's not like we spent that much time together.
Or that we chat for hours.
It's that something that drew me to you and wrote your name on my heart.
That someone who we each have in common and hold with in ourselves.
