Hello Bacchus,

I think making friends...comes with the fact that we have to trust others. And trust often doesn't come easily for any of us who has ever been hurt deeply. But that is where forgiveness has to step in...and once we are able to release the past...we can then begin anew...I too have struggled a lot with trust after my exhusband cheated on me and caused our marriage to end with divorce....but I'm getting a bit better...as I have a couple of very close friends that I am truly thankful for...and sounds like God has given you one too in your wife :)

Jesus is truly our best friend...He is always there...He sees us as who He made us to be...and He loves us unconditionally...how very blessed we are.

Praying for you bacchus...may God lift you up and bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart today and every day.

*hug*
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Bacc,
You my friend are not alone. I have found it hard myself. It's hard for me to trust people, thinking they have a motive. I gotten a little better as I try to accept me as me. I'm aware I'm a little anti-social.
Friends are hard to come by. Real ones that is.
I suppose love may be one of the answers.
I think you will find alot of people just like you and I.

Luv ya

A young man I know is the son of a doctor. He shared with his dad how he feels like no one likes him. The son didn't know that very day the dad had just heard the same words from the most popular kid in the class.

It is the enemies desire to make us feel alone and to get us alone cause he knows we are stronger in groups of 2 or more.

Look at what the bible says about this
Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

No wonder he wants us alone. I share this because you said...
Anyway, I shouldnt even be typing this, normally I dont let folks into my life to much

I wonder why not? Because we are to share each others burdens.
Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Hello Bacchus,
I first want to tell you that I felt as I was reading one of my post,
I too have battled some form of depression over my life and I too get very tired and just don't want to do anything but sulk.
I am about to lose my wife of 13 years (if God doesn't change her heart)
and I too can count the TRUE friends I have on one hand and have fingers left.
BUT now for the good, WE BOTH have God, WE BOTH have children that love us and we love, AND WE BOTH have the oasis family!!
I don't know about you but I am like mlg said "I too have struggled a lot with trust" but I'm learning to trust God and be more a Godly man and through that I feel trust of mankind will come, you also have something that is priceless on this earth and that is a companion that loves and accepts you for who you are and DOESN'T want change.
You can consider me a new online friend and I hope the same for many others on oasis.
God bless and keep your head up!
LET GO AND LET GOD!!

Welcome Bacchus I really liked everyone's response and I would like to touch on something that you said about airing dirty laundry, bro we ALL have dirty laundry. If we keep it pent up inside we give it more power over us and our perceptions. I too can count true friends (as in my area, not oasis cuz eveyone here is quite precious and are my online friends) one both hands. That is not a bad thing. We can have many aquaintances but are lucky indeed if we have a few true and trusted friends, ones who will be there through good and bad.

As far as depression goes, well, i too have my days where i am mentally exhausted. I would like to refer you to a post made by leaps in the message forum about depression that gives some awesome biblical insight into depression. I would quote it here but i dunno how to do that.

I too have gone in wrong directions with the wrong crowd out of a desire to fit in and feel accepted. Truth is, they were good time friends, not the ones who hung in with me when things weren't good. And in looking back, i had only made things worse. Trust is something that is earned or at least for me. As Oasis says, watch for fruits.

The thing about depression is that it eats away at us if we let it grow. I know sometimes it feels like we do not have a choice that it just keeps happening. I can remember days when i just stayed in bed for days on end, like if there was a magic pill to take to make everything better that was fifty feet away that i still would not have been able to get up to take it. I battled depression for many years and well, actually i still do. i just have a different perspective that God helped me to see. We all have things that we struggle with, bring it into the light. For me, that was the first step in healing.

Keeping u in prayers
