I'm Sorry!

Postby realtmg » Tue Jun 08, 2010 5:17 pm

Dear members,
I had post called "June Challenge Ideas? along with a message and I deleted it because I had few views and no responses. Last month 3 of us gave an extra 2 dollars per person who donated up and above what we usually give monthly. I only received a few PM's stating they donated. If people would have sent 1 dollar; it would of added up to a 7 dollar donation.
I do know that there are only a handful who donate to help keep Oasis going. So....... I got disgusted and deleted it. I had a PM this morning asking about it. So, I thought I would tell all what was on my mind REALly.

I say this as I feel that either we start giving what has been so freely given to us or we might not have a place to come and fellowship. I feel that this is coming or would not post this.
All I can add is do as your heart tells you.
And........... I luv you all!!

Sincerely in Christ Sinless Blood I ask,

Real

im sorry to butt in on ur post real, almost made it separate, but it goes along with urs, so i hope its ok that i post here.

Ya'll i gotta admit, I think real is right.. There is even physical evidence on the site of the struggle to keep Oasis going... as seen by the tremendous increase in ads, resulting in a few technical issues that phantomfaith has worked hard on correcting. Ty phan and O and effy for all yall do here.

Many many members contribute their time and reach for others offerring encouragement and that too is appreciated as it is so very important that we all reach, cuz we are all called to do so. Even amidst our problems. Still others pray for the site which is also very much appreciated. Yet the financial problems remain. Perhaps it is because only a handful of members contribute financially to keep this site going.

I have tried to keep quiet and not say anything about this tho it has weighed heavy on my heart for the past couple months... but I feel the time has come that I too must speak. Lemme ask ya, what is this site worth to ya? Can u put a pricetag on it??? I can't. Now I KNOW times are hard for everyone, having recently been laid off myself which was something i had never dreamed would occur. I think i read somewhere that there are like 90 members or so here.

A physical church takes care of their pastor and family and although Oasis will tell you he is not a pastor, i certainly believe he functions as that role here. A couple dollars does make a difference. Still, the financial problems remain. Do you find Oasis worthy of a contribution? Now, you may be thinking what can I do? I have little to offer in the way of money..... can ya spare a dollar or two??? See, those couple dollars add up. If every member contributed just a couple dollars it makes a tremendous difference, but if you sit back and say gee, mine won't matter and do nothing, i am here to tell you that it does make a difference.

Perhaps we have forgotten a few things along the way.... O, phan and effy have felt called to keep this site going, they have lost their home in doing so and are now on the road going from place to place, working odd jobs, working here, sometimes staying in different sanctuaries, sometimes having to camp out. And STILL reaching out for lost souls. When you ask them, they say things are great. They are trusting in the Lord. Personally I think i would have already curled up into a lil ball crying out for help. Yet, still they Stand.

Ya know the song by Casting Crowns.... If We Are the Body??? It's in the CD player on this site under Contemporary Christian,,, here's the link

http://www.christianityoasis.com/Music/ ... PLAYER.htm

I too am asking ya'll to search your hearts in regards to this site.

i luv u all and together we DO make a difference

*HippiePeace*

PS A correction.... I just looked on main forum index page and where it says who is online,,,, it says that there are 542 members.....

After a little bit of thinking..

Hello anyone whose reading this..I just logged into the site here about a 1/2 hour ago or so.out of curiousity I thought I'd check out the message boards to kill a little time before I decided what I was going to get into tonight online..The words "I'm sorry" stuck out..My thoughts were,"What's someone sorry for?" and from someone I've only chatted with a handful of times but far as I've ever seen has never offended anyone and to the best of my knowledge has no plans on leaving this wonderful website...Why else would someone say "sorry"?..So I clicked the link..For anyone that reads my posts, you know there not usually very short rofl ..Ok,the laughter's over..I wonder how many Christians are reading this or have read the replies before mine..Or as Pine stated, even really took an interest as to what's going on on the site it's very obvious ALOT enjoy coming onto..and that's wonderful,it truly is..ok,so we're all(or a majority are)adults here.We know that unfortunately it takes money for the world to go around so to speak...Things cost,I don't care what it is..If you get something for free, you still have to put gas in your car to go pick it up..If you get to the point, your debts don't match your income, you may be forced to go to a church for food,help,etc..I have been there MANY times in my life due to raising kids on my own,bills,etc,etc..Last year I frequented 4 churches every single week to be able to provide food for 5 families in the neighborhood I had lived in..Some didn't drive so they were very thankful but others did have vehicles but worked or were always running medical appointments(which sucked their gas funds up,not to mention prescription costs)so they didn't have the TIME to go get the food theirself..You wanna know what I gained from helping those folks when I had to use my own money AFTER I had lost my job and was out scrapping pop cans to pay my own bills?...Not a single thing! EXCEPT clearly remembering a scripture that Jesus tells us TO FEED THE POOR,be there for the needy..He never said we had to be rich to help someone, not once..I,like i just stated, did NOT have a job because there was no work available where I lived AND I didnt even have money to move away and start over at the time..I literally sat in my house while it foreclosed, selling every single thing in my home that i owned to at least keep lights on..I donated the bulk of my clothes to a church to make it EASIER for me to move...So this is my point...Raise your hand if you believe in the Lord...Do you have a Bible?...Open it..WITHOUT reading a word, power is going to start flowing right where you are..Go look in your refrigerator..What do you have in there?..How much did it cost?..More than a dollar?..How many of you have met your spouses or friends in person from this site?..We are in the Last Days and yes,a great amount of this stuff(hard times) is predicted but did I miss something where Jesus said we were to stop furthering His kingdom here on Earth until that day?@The Rapture...Because I have been there and only because of that reason I am going to say this>but Having a "stable" roof over our heads is a luxury in these day and times but to eat??EVERYONE needs to eat and does not deserve to be turned away for food..I will not ask Brandon or Phantom what they've ate today because that's not my business but the fact that they all do not have stable roof over their heads leaves me to wonder if days go by that they don't eat or have to eat only once a day due to no money because they've spent years keeping this site up(which is not ran "free") because it's their apparant Calling from the Lord and have, through the Lord, brought so many people to God and out from the depths of utter despair and misery..I know they did for me...When's the last time you received a blessing?...I know when I choose to not do the right thing,I don't see very many and believe you me,I enjoy my blessings VERY much so the least I can do is make sure those guys have SOMETHING to eat by the time my money order gets there... help if you have the extra buck or change to spare...God bless everyone and have a wonderful, safe weekend *Pray*

*hug* To all those that God has led here. Which means ALL the members here at Oasis.

I completely understand that not everyone has funds to donate, but I do know that most everyone has at least one dollar in pennies that can be scraped up some how. It don't have to be hundreds of dollars to make a donation, but a penny here or there can add up if just everyone takes their spare pocket change and sends it in. We have over 500 members here, so if each one gives at least one dollar, wow that is quite a chunk of pocket change. Even my 11 year old wants to donate here, she handed me her piggy bank and said mommy, give it to Brandon and Phantom. That to me says a lot when my daughter even can see what God is doing through this site. :) She has personally met both of these men, as have I and she speaks highly of them both all the time. She says that she was never afraid of either of them because she could see God in them both. What an amazing thing for her to tell me when she didn't even know them, but she knows HIM. :) So please, if my daughter can do this, then so can all of you. She has even told many other young people about this site at her school and she speaks a lot to them about Jesus all because of what she has learned from reading many of the studies here on the site. She also sees how much I love this site too. She knows it is safe and protected so she has never been afraid. Her and I both sit and read together and discuss the programs and studies. She gets so excited when things click and she understands all because they are written in ways that many understand.

So please let us all help one another keep this site up and running for other generations to enjoy just as much as we do, and for others to get the help, just as we continue to receive through this site. Share the LOVE, share HIM with everyone, let the whole world KNOW the TRUTH.

Sincerely,

Breezy

You know it takes everyone of us to keep the doors open here. I know for awhile now a few have been donating each and every month faithfully to help the Oasis stay going...but there are still times that it is not enough...and I know that Oasis and Phan do without so that the doors here can stay open...it makes me sad.

luv ya'll

First of all i wanna thank everyone who has given so far. I gotta admit when i saw save our sanctuary i went straight into full blown panic mode, took me clicking three times to be able to read the message all the way through and yet i still din't quite understand exactly where the problem was beyond a need for money for security programs.

Now,, figuring if i didn't understand a few things, i assume maybe a couple others don't either. So i emailed O, asking ok if we cut down on this, this, this and this (many different things i mentioned such as cutting down on number of forums, getting rid of cool spaces, etc) could it help to keep Oasis online since it seems to be so difficult for members to contribute a lil???? In a nutshell that answer is no.

The main financial issue is keeping security programs in place that prevent links to viruses or "Adult" sites from popping up here and ensuring this is a safe place for all of us, remember teens and lil kids visit here too.

So, i guess my point is that this is an ongoing monthly need every single month. After being here about 2 1/2 years or close to it, i have never ONCE seen where this site went down because of lack of funds.

I think Oasis and Phan have done all they can to keep this site going, ya'll know wat all they have given up to do so. So..... that means it is up to us members to make sure Oasis remains online every single month.

As near as i can figure the goal for member contributions is 1000.00 (based upon the love offerring chart). With hundreds of members the amount needed from every member would be a few dollars a month. Ok, now i know some people don't have money to spare, like teens who are in school and not working and some who are sick and have to be in a place where they take all your money to help care for you and some where it literally takes everything they get just to keep a roof over their head. Ok, keeping all of that in mind...if only 200 members gave 5.00 a month that would equal the 1000.00 that is needed.

So, please consider donating what you can, money is still needed to keep our sanctuary going for the rest of the month and every month after that. It is in our hands as to whether or not our sanctuary survives.

Ok, i have said all i can think of to help people to see what is needed and why. Will continue to pray for people here and for our sanctuary.... please search your hearts and see if u can find it within urself as to whether or not this place is worth investing in, not just this month, but every single month

Oh and breezy wat ur little girl said brought tears to my eyes..... outta the mouths of babes.....

luv u all

I must say my heart smiled to read the message from Christianity Oasis today. It's good to see God providing for them and His ministry. Things are getting better for our friends...and it's all because of caring members of the Oasis church family. Each month that comes around...we can make the difference...by opening our pockets and our hurts. I thank each of you...and luv ya all.
