God is convicting me
How does one stop being so selfish? I feel so selfish right now . The doctors tell me I have a serious illness, and it's not my fault, but I have to take responsibility at some point . I realize I haven't been living for God at all, I've been living for my husband . And I've really let him down . Idk how to forgive myself, but I hope God will forgive me. I appreciate any and all prayers. I'm thankful for Christianity oasis . You guys are great, I'm praying all the members here will be blessed.

redbandit, forgiving ourselves is always hard. It is normal to think that we did somethng that we shouldn't have and we are responsible for becoming ill. But, even though we may think that it doesn't make it true. Even if it were true, there is nothing that can be done about it now. Your illness is an opportunity for the Lord to Bless You in ways you've never imagined. But, you have to believe you deserve it to receive All He Has For You.
I understand what you're mean when you say you've been living for your husband and you've let him down. None of us are perfect. In a marriage, you let each other down and disappoint each other, but you still Love each other. Does your husband feel like you've let him down ? I'm sure that your illness is as frightening to your husband as it is to you. Sometimes when we're scared, we say thing we don't mean. So even if he has said that you've let him down, doesn't mean that you really have.
Praying for you.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he thinks I let him down . He knows I'm really sorry though .

It is always easier to forgive others than to forgive ourselves. Sometimes letting it go and forgetting it can be harder than almost anything else we do.
