By His Stripes/Easter Program
Our program is for anyone who faces or has faced a physical illness. It is the Spiritual medicine provided through the death of Jesus Christ that we need to learn to become more dependant upon during these times.
1 Peter 2:21-25 21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:23Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Sometimes when we are going through an illness it is difficult for us to remember that we have a friend who understands what we are going through. Jesus knows how we suffer as He too suffered many things so that we could have healing from our sins. His stripes healed us from our spiritual illness. So if we have faith and believe that Jesus died for our sins, why is it we often struggle to believe that He can heal us of our physical ailments? Do you believe that Jesus walked the world and healed many of the souls here who were sick physically and spiritually?
Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
Do you believe that Jesus still has that same healing power now as He gave to the disciples then? Do you believe miracles are still being performed by Him?
So if God is still a healing God, why does He allow us or our loved ones to fall ill? Well as we know all things work for the glory of God. When we are ill, God is strong. He wants us to become obedient in knowing that He is in control of all things and that when illness falls, He is still on His throne.
1 Peter 5:13-14 Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
I Peter 5:15-16 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Wow, now look at that power we have before us. In the form of prayers. Not only should we pray for our own afflictions, but we should seek others to pray for us as well. But, many times when we become ill, or suffer an affliction, we tend to not go and seek out fellow Christians as we should. Why is this, when there is so much power offered to us in prayer? How many of you here have ever prayed for someone who is ill? Do you personally seek out the power of prayer during your time of illness? Do you notice a difference soon after?
Let's talk a bit about the healing power in His stripes for Spiritual illness. The soul that is broken and downtrodden. The one that sits in darkness. The one that is facing much in trials and tribulations of the world. The Christian whose faith is being tried through temptations and heaviness. Can Jesus heal the Spiritual illnesses we face as well?
I Peter 1:6-9 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory; Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Through Jesus Christ our souls are made whole eternal life is what He brings to those of us who suffer Spiritually. Spiritual warfare is won through Jesus and His death. It is by His Stripes that we are healed.
Jesus has healing power. Power that is readily available to us in any type of illness we face. He can handle it all. His death was not in vain. His death was for you. So when you suffer, just remember the suffering you face is only temporary, but the lifetime you are promised is eternal through the stripes that Jesus bore.

Its so important to pray for not only your own spiritual health, but your physical health as well. Bring all your petitions to Him.
