Weeping unto the Lord

Postby morningrain » Mon Mar 22, 2010 6:48 am

Hannah, the Prophet Samuel's Mother (1 Sam.1 & 2)

Hannah was very persistence in prayer, giving up wasn't something she seem to understand. This is a great example of praying without ceasing as we are told to do in 1 Thess.5:17. Hannah grieved within herself to the Lord, seem to constantly crying out to the Lord, pouring her soul out to the Lord, she withdrew from eating and weep sore to the Lord. What grieved her was she couldn't conceive a child. There are things that occurs within our life that grieves us within. For one its one thing for another person it's something else. It may be something that is heavy upon us that brings on depression, anxiety and panic or it may be a illness that you are dealing with. Hannah is a great example of crying out to the Lord, being persistence in prayer unto the Lord. It truly shows our dedication, unselfishness, to the Lord and trust and faith in the Lord by turning to Him. You're placing your life into His hands when doing this.

Where did all this prayer take her?

The Priest Eli thanking she was drunk come to realize she was sorrowful and said unto Hannah . Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.

Hello Angeltears *hug*

Thank you for sharing this message with us. It is a great reminder to us all that prayer is a bi-product of our faith walk.

Back in Hannah's day, when Samuel was but a child, The Bible says that God's Word wasn't heard much.

I Samuel 3:1 And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious (rarely given) in those days; there was no open vision.

And yet, there is Hannah, praying daily to The Lord -- crying out to Him. What awesome faith she had in Almighty God.

God bless and keep you, Angeltears.
Love,
Mack

Amen, yes it is. It's amazing how God just knows exactly how to work through each of us. Specially when we are on bended knee.

Thank you Mack for adding, so much came to mind when going through 1 Samuel this morning. Got up this morning and wanted to read and felt the Holy Spirit leading me to 1 Samuel. Still thinking heavily on the Prayer Hannah prayed in 1 Sam.2:1-10.

*hug*

God Bless you dear Sister
