Prophets of old

Postby morningrain » Tue Mar 16, 2010 10:01 am

For the longest time I've always found it interesting the lives of God's Prophets. Yesterday I finally sat down and begin getting a study on the Prophets and Prophetess of the Bible together to post on. Quiet interesting to say the least. God's prophets were maybe some of the most hated people in the bible. We get a glimpse of this in Matt.23:29-37. Jesus said in Mark 13:57, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Hey sis...what awesome thoughts this morning you have shared on the prophets. Really made me think. I would say the prophets went through so much to strengthen their faith as the more they believed in God the more they would hear and understand the visions He gave them and be bold in sharing them.

luv ya

Yes that a big part of it ...... there's more though, it goes much deeper.

I'll be back to share later. :)

God needed His prophets to become completely unattached to the world. Hard to do that if we are living to comfortable in the world. We are able to learn a valuable lesson from the prophets not just them but many throughout the bible (John 17:14-16). Through trails and tribulations we are strengthen by the power of God through the Holy Spirit for our faith. The closer we are able to draw to God the better we hear and understand what the Holy Spirit has to share with us, whether it's visions, dreams, etc

Lol this is one I think I could go on and on becoming unattached from this world and why it is so important.

You know that is so true sis...God needs many of us to be this way now...as I see so many people worrying about what is going on in politics or natural disasters etc....but we have to remember that all is part of God's plan and who are we to worry about what God does...we have to focus more on what part we are in God's plan.

Great stuff sis.

Thanx for sharing.

luv ya
