Stepping Stone #3

I use to beat myself up with self unforgiveness because I didn't fully grasp the knowledge and revelation of God's grace. I use to try to be perfect, but I learned that I could never be perfect as long as I live in the flesh. Little by little God is showing me the reality revelation of his grace and forgiving power through Christ Jesus. It's amazing how God forgave David who was caught in adultery and because of his humbleness, he went on to be highly favored by God.
So in the same way, it's through humility and a sincere humbled heart like David that I myself can receive God's forgiveness not by works, but by simply believing in my heart that God sent his only Son Jesus Christ that had already paid for the sins I was going to make, the sins I am making now and even the sins I will make in the future.
However, this is not to say that I can keep on willingly sinning against God and expect to receive his grace. For if that were true, God's grace would be in vain and praise the Lord that it is not. I know I am not perfect and I want to change and live the life Christ died to give me; a life pleasing to him. It's only through faith in Christ that I can do so; not on my own merits. I thank God now more than ever before that when I do fall, I can get back up knowing God will not leave me there.
