Re: is this abuse?
Dear mumnpops,
You are so beautiful to the Lord. He loves you and delights in you everyday! That is crazy to consider!!! Everyday when you wake up He is there and happy to call you His! He wants to know you and craves a close relationship with you. He wants to show you your worth!
In answer to your question yes it is. What you are experiencing is emotional abuse. When I was in a controlling relationship he never hit me but he tore me down and didn't let me do anything. My spirit was shattered. I was like an empty shell of myself. Even when I tried to be myself there was something missing and people close to me saw through it.
It breaks you from the inside. The good news is there is hope for you! God wants to show you how much He loves you and how much you mean to Him. If you have time I would really recommend the healing path counseling program. It's really helpful and healing for your soul and your emotions.

Re: is this abuse?
Yes, it is abuse. And your self-worth is not defined by anyone's criticism of you. If he wants to leave, let him leave. If you have not done so, begin to study "who you are in Christ". He is your Savior.
