I'm giving the welcome trolley a fresh coat of paint and a new bumper sticker!!!

All aboard the Evangelism Train!

I'm lookin for a few people who want to join me in a challenge to find someway to share the gospel with someone somehow each and every single day.

We can explore different methods of getting the truth of Jesus' redemption out there and reaching out in love to the lost. From leaving tracts at phone booths to talking to the people in line behind us at the grocery store to volunteering somewhere that allows us to sit and share the Bible, to talking to our own kids in our homes we need to seek out and take advantages of the opportunities that God gives us.

We can pray for one another and share resources and methods. Most of us went through some education and training for the worldly jobs we have, so why should we think we will be effective evangelists without any kind of study or practice?

The harvest is ripe!!!

And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,* Who bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15

Awww splash what a beautiful idea. I love finding ways to share Jesus with others...I think there are so many ways, we just have to be willing to do so.

So...how does this work sis? Do we just list ideas here?

luv ya

Sure! I know we each have ways of sharing that are more in our comfort zone and other ways that are a real stretch... my goal is to grow in boldness knowing that God's word never returns void and that this is a no-lose proposition.

Some people are perfectly comfortable standing up in front of a large group talking about what Jesus has done for them, while others muster all their courage to leave a tract in a phone booth. Whatever courage and strength we have, if we use it for God's glory then He'll give us more. Either method puts the Word of God out there where people can hear it and be rescued from the condemnation that everyone who doesn't know Jesus as savior is going to face.

Awesome sis...well interesting enough...I'm not good at standing in front of a crowd...but I found myself recently standing up and volunteering to give a devotional in the children's youth department when our regular volunteer was absent. I was totally unprepared, but Holy Spirit wasn't and when I opened my Bible the words came...

and what about it's Christmas time...everyone gives gifts at Christmas...make your gift a scripture...handing out scriptures to people such as with every gift you exchange with another, put scripture in the card, or on the gift, or if your really bold, volunteer to be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and hand out scriptures while ringing the bell and collecting donations :)

Oh Sis, You're awesome! Almost every church is looking for volunteers to help with their childrens ministries and those little minds are so open and willing to accept the truth about Jesus! Usually they will give you the lesson plan and there's very little work involved in planning ahead!

I love the idea of sharing scripture with Christmas gifts and cards! Maybe I will bake some little loaves of banana bread and include a scripture with them about Jesus being the bread of life; or give candles with a scripture about Jesus being the light of the world.

I've been trying to remember when I go through drive through windows or check out lines at stores to say God bless you instead of just thank you or have a nice day.

Those are great ideas Iron! I get "gospel tracts" from the christian bookstore or order them online from the american tract society they're pretty cheap (like 20 for $3 or less).. when i'm feeling brave and courageous I give them to people (this morning i gave a few to some homeless people one in a parking lot one at the shelter) but often i will just leave them at phone booths or in waiting rooms at doctor's offices, in airports, restrooms, etc. Wow I am going to run with Starry's idea nad write www.christianityoasis.com on them! God's word never returns void!

Starry maybe since God has gifted you with such artistic talent AND a calling for evangelism you could design us our very own tract for Oasis... of course Mr O would have to have approval on it but that would be soooo awesome... something we could link to and print out and not only invite folks to become a member of the Christian Family but the Oasis' fellowship as well! (That's sorta a Lizzie idea... thanks sis!) What do ya think?? And I do love the idea of a group but I don't know how to do that so someone else will have to start it and send me an invitation.
