Day 2
Who am I? What a funny question to ask myself on the verge of my 50th birthday! It seems, though, that upon further reflection, I have spent most of my life searching for the answer to this question. Until recently I would have said simply, "I am an American...Caucasian...female...mother...wife...daughter...sister...friend...student...retail manager.". Looking at these descriptions I see now how each one allows me to see myself only as a member of a group that includes others who share the same description. These groups are not all-inclusive, nor do they provide the complete answer to my question. These groups seem more like cultural subcategories.
If I think of myself as a child of God, I am not limited by the narrow constraints of these groups. What a freeing thought! As a child of God, there are no limits to what I can be...or what I can do...or what I can achieve...in service to others for the Glory of God!
