A Christian's Perspective on Global Warming
Hello Christianity Oasis, All...

A Christian’s Perspective on Global Warming
First of all…I believe climate change is the best phrase to use when describing the apparent warming of our atmosphere and the effects that warming is having on our planet. Now one might think that a somewhat conservative born again Spirit indwelled Christian such as myself would scoff at the notion our world is in deep voodoo if we don’t find a dynamic way to control the green house gas emissions we believe are the number one factor causing climate change. However, I don’t scoff at such things. Faith and reason and science all agree that our atmosphere is somewhat warmer than we would like simply because such is fueling weather extremes around the world such as the super abundance of tornadoes.
However, beyond what we can see, beyond what we believe to be reasonable, and beyond the ability of science to quantify, there lies the looming reality of Bible prophecy foretelling all that is going on in our world today. And believe it or not scripture tells us where climate change is headed and just how awful such change will be to those on this earth at that time. I say that time, because that time is not yet. We are living in the time of sorrows. Here is what scripture has to say about climate change.
Rev. 16
[5] And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
[6] For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
[7] And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
[8] And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
[9] And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
It is a wise man or woman that sits down with the good book and reads Matthew chapter 24 and the Book of Revelation, and believes the prophecies that have been foretold therein are the signs of the times we are living in now. The distress of nations is at the door, so much so that those that scoff at the words of God, that refuse to fear him, refuse to repent, refuse to give him glory, that mock him and blaspheme him are in danger beyond what one can imagine.
That green house gases are contributing to the warming of our planet is on the physical side of things. Such effects are visible to the naked eye. We have little difficulty seeing the problems arising from mass energy consumption. We see the signs of the times, massive storms ranging from hurricane to tornado outbreaks to forest fires unlike what the world has ever seen. Unfortunately, most do not equate the horrible things going on around us or to us as the result of our own unbelief in the true God our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He it is that opens the book which brings judgement to the world of Gentiles…
Unbelief allows us to live like there is no tomorrow. Like greenhouse gases unbelief is the fuel that is bringing hell up from the depths of the pit to rage as lust in hearts all over the world. Unbelief is an open door to temptation, and temptation is ever the work of the devils we draw to ourselves because of our inordinate affections. As much as the weather has exceeded its normal limitations and is raging out of control because of too much atmospheric heat, the normal restraints given by God to man to keep him from the influence of hell have been broken down beyond repair through the excess of heat that lies in the unbridled lust that has ever accompanied unbelief.
There is no stopping the plague of lust that is raging all around the world today. More and more men and women will succumb to the temptations that abound everywhere through it. Notwithstanding, there is still time to turn toward the Lord of Lords and King of Kings and be freed from lust through the new birth. When one becomes born of God old things pass away, (lust), and all things become new. However, please understand this. Lust has its place in the world, such being the desire of a man for his wife, and the desire of a woman for her husband. Such are the natural boundaries God has set for men and women for their own good!
The Apostle Peter said, “Having escaped the pollutions of the world through lust…”
I’ll leave you with this thought. Hell is no joke…

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
