Christianity Oasis Forum

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Hello Christianity Oasis, All,

Rom.5
[1] Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
[2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
[3] And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
[4] And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
[5] And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Of the Spirit of God, what have you experienced? Or, of the Spirit God what haven't you experienced? How do you rate the value of having spiritual experiences in your life on a scale from 1-10? Personally, spiritual experience is a 10. It is one of the great keys to the Kingdom of God. Why? With experience comes wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, all of which are an essential part of our great hope, which is to stand up in faith and see the glory and immortality that awaits us at the end of our journey here.

Paul gives us the stages of spiritual experience that lead us to the hope that stands up, sees a vision of our future, and despite everything going on in our lives, counts our journey finished from the foundation of the world. To me, experience is a 10 in my life. I didn't come by experience easily. I walked the same walk as Paul walked above. I have peace with God through the cross of our Lord. I rest in faith completely relying on the promises of God despite all evidence to the contrary as did Abraham. I glory in the tribulation I had to endure to establish the good fruit of patience in my life, for without it I would be lacking in spiritual experience; spiritual experience being that thing that opened my eyes to the fact those very experiences matched those of the Apostles. It was and is spiritual experience that has rooted me and grounded me in the truth of our Lord, all the working of the Spirit of God in my life.

Let's review. Now I see that I have peace with God through our Lord. I rest my faith on that fact. Because of faith in the work of my Lord I endure tribulation which in essence is the trial of my faith. I come to understand through tribulation I must patiently endure it. I learn through tribulation the many different ways the devil attacks us. Through tribulation I learn how not only to do battle with wicked forces, but overcome them. I learn that greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world and experience the great power God has placed within us through His Spirit. With that experience comes great confidence confidence in the Word of God. Being fully persuaded now that God is in all respects for me, I boldly see myself as a Man of God destined for glory and honor and power after the manner of My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Now a full grown son of God no longer under the authority of tutors and governors, the Father of our Lord comes to me, let's me know who He is in essence, and places His love in me.

How important is spiritual experience to you?

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
