What do we have to loose?

Postby mlg » Wed Sep 26, 2007 10:14 pm

Why is sharing love, such a hard thing for so many? Now I'm not talking about love as in, husband and wife, family, or friend, but a LOVE bigger than that. It's called Agape. Agape love is where we love our fellow man, regardless of whether they are DESERVING of our love or not.

God loves us all regardless of how many sins we commit or how bad the sin is. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying that God is ok with sin, but he still loves us no matter what. If he didn't there would never have been a sacrificial Lamb named Jesus sent to die for us on the cross. So, if God loves us no matter what, agape love, then why do we have such a hard time doing the same for our fellow man?

Do you know that the Bible says love doesn't anger, it has no fear, it isn't easily provoked? This is agape. When you get so mad at someone in your lifetime, they've wronged you like nothing else, do you say I love you to them?

An example of what love can do for someone, I had a lady come into my office yesterday, screaming, cursing, and angry at another lady. She was so upset, I didn't know what to say, so I looked at the woman and said, I want you to know that we love you, and hope your day gets better. A look of peace came over this woman, even though just seconds earlier she was yelling and cursing. The lady then said to me, "I'm out of line, I'm sorry, I think I will go now." Instead of yelling back at the lady, getting angry at her for cursing, telling her to get out, I just simply showed her love and she stopped her fit, and realized how she was acting wasn't very kind.

Can you imagine what the world would be like if we all showed love, to those who don't deserve it? Most people today, who don't feel loved, use other emotions to get attention. Ever thought about that? If someone was getting an outpouring of love in their life from others, then do you think they would have to "show out".

From this I want you all to know that each and everyone of you are loved here at the Oasis, you are family, I'm glad you are here. If ever someone steps on your toes, show them agape, tell them you love them, and try to make things right. Now I know that's easier said than done, but hey it's worth a try right? What Do You Have To Loose? You might just gain a good friend instead and in the meantime you are gaining favor in OUR FATHER'S EYES!!!

In response to your question mlg sis.. my answer is NOTHING!! We got nothing to lose and everything to gain by sharing our love with others :) For loving freely brings us closer to Jesus :)

Eph 4:31-32: Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

1John4:7: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Luv u all and GBU :)

Mlg your post reminded me of a favorite song of mine, If Everyone Cared by Nickelback (it is mainstream). The chorus:

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
And I'm saying Amen, Amen, I
Amen, I
I'm alive :)

I'll get all the lyrics to post in livin thru music but the song is also on the CD player on my website...

A lot of people even Christians are so influenced by the worldly definition of love- a disposable, compartmentalized emotion- that agape love is unfathomable to them. If even one person started the love God's hand and the Holy Spirit would make the chain reaction.

Oasis is a great place to start ;)

GBU and luv ya all,
Susi

Okay, I change my answer lol. Maybe a couple things we may lose when we share the Love of Christ to others, is some of our self seeking desires and pride :) which is all in all a good thing :)

Oh susles i luv that song :)

and amen to what u said sis :)

1Cor 13:4-7: Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
