Modelbuilder's Journal Day 3

Postby modelbuilder » Wed Dec 31, 2014 8:35 pm

It is evening, I have eaten dinner with my beautiful wife and I have time to write a few thought as she is out running an errand or two. God's grace, how simply amazing it is, how pure it is and from no other motive than His love. When I was in high school I was in track and some of the times we were training my mates and I would alter our course a tad. We would leave the pavement and run down the canyon behind our high school. The abundant foliage of the oaks and cedars would shade us from the heat and sun in fall and summer or keep some of the rain off in the spring. At the bottom of the canyon was a city park with natural springs coming up from the aquifer. The spring water had pressed its was through limestone and was absolutely pure. By the time we got to the park we were hot and thirsty and we would just lie down by the spring, drink our fill and refresh ourselves. In all my years since I have yet to taste any water so refreshing or taste any water that was quite like that. That water was pure and completely untreated - no chlorine, no fluoride, just 100% pure water. There is a part of my heart that longs for that spring water but I have to settle for what is available where I live, several 100 miles away from that town and spring, but I never forget how it refreshed me. Do not get me wrong as I am thankful for bottled water on a hot day and when I was in Kenya that is all anyone on the team drank. Bottled water is good and thank you for it Lord Jesus! The aspect of pure and straight from the source is what I am thinking of here, and again God's grace pure and straight from the source of His love - no added motives. Nothing is like it. I try to drink some of that water every time I go back to my hometown. I wonder if we are really aware of how much God's grace covers our lives? I have heard of grace being defined as "The unmerited favour of God," and that definition seems to work very well and makes sense to me. If I look around me will I see other forms of God's grace? My answer must be yes. My beautiful wife is a lovely form of God's grace. My few close friends, my children, my art, the church I attend with my family - these and so many other things are different forms of God's grace. All that to say this; I do not think for the most part we know how much God has graced our lives in a multitude of ways, but as it is revealed to us we will become more and more thankful for it and share that awareness with those around us. Happy New Year everyone and may God Most High bless you.

Happy New Year Brother mbuilder. *Wave*

I came here today to let you know how your sharing has inspired me to seek God deeper. It wasn't the words you shared it was that you are seeking Him. Beautiful words by the way. Be blessed!
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.
