Trials and tribulations. Not my favorite topic, but, I like the proving of the faith perspective. When I feel like the psalmist from Psalm 143 - when the enemy has smitten my life down to the ground and made me dwell in darkness - it feels more like a one sided fight than something to prove my faith and make me patient. Sometimes all we can do is stand. Sometimes we fall, but we rise again. Maybe, just maybe, I have to learn to rejoice instead of whine and complain. Renew my mind. I have to control my thoughts. I have to speak the truth to myself. I am definitely going to chew on all the good encouragement, perspective and direction in today's stepping stone as I continue to work in my garden. Feeling too equipped to quit. ;)

Romans 5:3-5
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
