The anxiety and depression was at it's worse today, and I did something dumb. My mother has this cousin who claims to believe in salvation through Jesus christ, and He even confessed Jesus as his lord and savior,

The problem is he's a diviner, does psychic stuff. He talked to me and I listenend to Him. He gave meincense to burn in my home and annointing
oil to annoint my head and bottom f feet. I told him that I didn't think it was right, but he assured me it was.

I took it from him but didn't use it. I hope God isn't mad at me.
I know He is the only way. Please don't forget me in prayer.

Did you know God doesn't get mad and want to drop kick up to the curb just cause we mess up?
He's a gentle loving Father who always takes us back, no strings attached.

Repenting as you have done is the first step. There's more to undo this evil that's crept into your life. But I'll let those who know more than I do help you with that.

How's the steps coming? Haven't heard from you in a while on the progress. Did you take a little detour? Time to get back on the path.

Once you really realize how much God loves you, the anxiety and depression will fade. Because you will have a good grasp on His protective will over you.

You're in my prayer John. the devil loves throwing snares our way, but the Lord, has given you an opportunity to pray for your cousin. Also the Lord has given you a descerning heart to know what truth is, the Holy Spirit is with you. God lets us make our mistakes. in return the Holy Spirit convicts us to turn to the Lord and ask for forgiveness. The Lord draws us closer to Him when doing so. We can learn from our mistakes, from our sins.

John, I am seeing this in a different way. Please try to be open to what I am going to say.

You are saying that this cousin is a diviner and psychic but did you know that God also has his people be seers and prophets?

Did you know that in the Bible, there is talk about incense for cleansing and oil for anointing?

God had it first and the enemy can only copy.

If your cousin is claiming Jesus as his lord and savior, He is. Someone being influenced by evil cannot claim Jesus as his savior.
1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
Someone working in the dark arts will talk about Jesus but not claim him as their savior. Your cousin believes his salvation came through Jesus.

Think about what your cousin was talking to you about. Was it healing through Jesus? Was he concerned about your welfare and wanted to help? Did he tell you how to pray with the oil and incense?
Did he give the glory to our Lord or himself?
The enemy will use your confusion to keep you down.

Father, I ask that you break the confusion off John so he can see you clearer.
Help him to trust his insight, your Holy Spirit to know the difference.

Hi John, the enemy walks to and fro looking for whom he may devour...and sometimes when we are at our weakest is when he gets to us most. My prayers are with you...but just remember God loves you and it is through His grace that we can repent and get back up on our feet. He is bigger than the depression and the temptations...reach for Him when you feel low.

John, God is Good!!! He gives us this inside barometer of sorts, and it goes off if something comes our way that does not line up with our understanding of God and His beloved Word. Wooooooohooooooo!!!

As we grow in God, and in the knowledge of His Word, He'll reveal more and more to us. If we get a quiver and feel something not right -- take it to Him. He'll restore us to a place of blessed peace.

There is so much we still don't understand. But He doesn't leave us alone. The fact that your barometer went off, just says to me that you are taking everything before the Lord. Yeah!!!

Oftentimes we'll misunderstand what another person is sharing, or it may be something that God has not yet revealed to us. It may be of God and it may NOT be of God, but your walk is with Him, so it is good you take it before Him, always.

I love that you are beginning to test the spirits. That's a good thing, John. The Holy Spirit will lead you.

Continue to pray to The Lord, and also pray for your cousin too. Your cousin may have been sharing something blessed of God, or he may have been deceived himself. Continue to seek God and His Word, and The Truth will be revealed.

The Lord is not mad at you. He's right there with you.
