this is my day 1

Postby dmorrow » Sun Dec 20, 2009 4:06 pm

Hello my name is Derek and this is my day 1 of the 14 day healing process so this is whats going on....... I have committed adultery, not once, not twice, but three time since my rededication to christ and this is coming from porn, a horrible mind killing thing. Temptation is getting to me everyday with, "do it again", or "porn is not bad its a beautiful thing", so i could really use some help im gonna start praying more and more.... but even praying for me is hard to do. I think its sometimes embarrassing to just drop down somewhere and just start talking with my eyes closed. even in front of my parents. I know i shouldn't be that way but that is something else i could get help with.... anyways thanks for reading and i look forward to hearing from all of you caring loving people thanks!

hello brother derek *hug5*

Do you know this guilt that you feel, this shame, this remorse for your actions... is a good sign?

Yes it is a wonderful indication that your heart has not become hardened and that you love God and want to do what He wants you to do.

See satan lures us and then condemns us when we sin and this can drive us to hopelessness.. but the Holy Spirit brings conviction that leads to repentence and healing. Listen to God's voice, and not that of the enemy.

Sin is somethin that gets its hooks in us, and gettin them things out takes time, devotion and most importantly, dependance on the Lord. But as big and bad as sin appears... God is bigger and more powerful than all that. And with Him you can overcome, even what appears to be impossible now.

You shared that praying is tough for you.. and it may be now. But with practice, and if you stick with it, you will find yourself not caring what others thing and actually wanting to do it and craving that time with God.

This program will help you grow stronger in the Lord, so my hope is that you will see it thru all 14 days :)

One step at a time :)

God bless u brother derek

dmorrow, Welcome to the Oasis. We are glad to have you here.

dmorrow there is hope and healing in Jesus. I know you say you have a hard time praying...but prayer is like having a conversation with God. You can pray anywhere you want...and sometimes it's best to find a private place to go and talk to Him. God wants to become your best friend...He wants you to tell Him about your struggles, He wants to help you...He wants you to believe that He will get you past the temptation.

The temptation of porn is something that the enemy uses often to pull people away from the Lord. You must remember that God is a forgiving God and that He knows that you will fall down at times...but if you do He wants you to repent...and then let Him help you get up and dust off and get back in the race. I know right now this all seems hard and your wondering if you can overcome this battle...The Answer is with God you CAN...All things are possible with God.

Praying for you dmorrow. Come visit us in the chatroom sometime.

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

What they said...
Some people have this image of praying as only on their knees, begging God for things but it doesn't have to be that way. Talk to Him like you would a friend. Picture Jesus next to you, it makes it easier.

I just wanted to say "hi" to you and welcome.

Hello Derek

Welcome aboard , the question I would like you to ponder on is this , is it hard for you to pray about this specific situation ? Or is it praying period ?
(which , by the way could be as a direct result of your "adultery" )

You know what I would do ? I would make a copy of what you just wrote in your post , and go somewhere (in the secret place ?) and read your post to Him . Think it's a crazy idea huh ? but is it really ? I can read your prayer in your post already ! Just imagine what He could do !

Glad to have you decide to go the other way , see ? You already have taken action , now all you got left to do is keep it up .

In Brotherhood of Christ our Lord
