Glad to say was smooth sailing loggin-in t'day. Maybe Phantom could get a cupl of xtra hrs to sleep, Ha ! ---- STEP 5 -- OH BOY ! -- ( I knew I was going to need some water eventualy !) Oh , that's an inside joke by the way which I'll let u in it later. now, on with my reflection on 5th, (did somebody say fifth ? ) . Well , as a recovering alcoholic I get the privilage to be asked to go on on speaking engagements (which by the way' I have one coming this Sun. 18th) to carry the "message" on to others, and I usualy start out w/ "I'm not here to glorify A- ,or any (particular) church, sect, denomination or Camp Rehab, I'm here t'day as a direct result of a direct answer to a direct prayer to the God of my then misunderstanding, so if there's anyone here that gets "disturbed" by that, please be forwarned and leave the hall. See, alcohol was the 2by 4 that God used to whack me upside the head to get His attention !!-- It is by God's Grace that I am sober t'day and privilaged to pass on to you what had bin freely given to me which, is the only way I know how to repay HIM, not you. Some of you might b saying, "why repay if it was free ? ", well my friends I didn't say it was free, I said freely Given ( it cost me 28 yrs of living hell w/ king alcohol to Get to Him and He knew by then I didnt have anithing to give) . But give I must, or else I starve and since His Grace is all I have t'day, I'll show you how that came to be. So I start w Adam & Eve being the first alkies (blame game stp. 5) that when God asked them what was goin on he said she made me and she said the serpent made and so on, then I tell'em when I got here I only had One problem -- THEM ! .------ Well, enough of the alkie tales right ? On w COOLie 5th stp. reflection , I guess I can sum it up w what happened this morn',(proof that He is w/me on this) , me & my buds take turns pickin each other up to go to our morn' meeting sort of like car pooling, &t'day was his turn to pick me up and usually we'd have enough time 4 cffee b4 we head out (fellowshiping) so in the light of what happened yesterday , in addition to set the coffee I filled another pot w water and set it on the stove,before Iwent to my comp. 4 my daily reflection & 5th stp., well when he got here he'd brought his own sponsor w/him (wonder why,right ?) !?!?! now remember I had just gone thru the stp. which started w something like "gettn n tuch w feelins" (by the way, my idea of gettin n tuch w feelins =2 gettin n tuch w a hot stove) any way, scrollin along came to the box w 1Peter 5:8-9 & the bell rings ----- well "surprised to see u here( 2 his spons.), glad u came ladida-- 1st thing outa his mouth was "soo how's the gardnin biz goin?" . I'm thinkin "am I ready 4 u 2" I sd "coffee? its in the kitchen" , the bell rings again, this time it's MY sponsor ( I guess they'd calld him or somthn) now we're all in the kitchen, & my spons goes "is everythin alright vahn ? 1st I hear somthn about plantin roses in the desert & now u have this water that's bin boilin 4 20 mins now & havn't done anythin w/it yet" I sd t'mself "go 4 it , take no prisoners" I went "think about an OASIS what's the 1st thing that comes to mind ?" He sd "desert !!!" ( i'm thinkin thats 2 brownie points 4 u spons) so I went on sayin "well y'see I ws in this desert & I fnd m'slf in this oasis w a garden of some sort in the mid of it & somethin told me to pull some weeds & I did & ended up w/this empty space that tought if I fill it it wont be empty no more (how smart of me huh) findin n'thin I reached in my pocket , there's this rose bulb, thinkin its bead figred I'd burry it may b it'll come back to life" spons went "what in the world ur talkin 'bout vahn? what's this water 4 ?" I sd " yeh I kno it sounds imposible, 4 us may b but not 4 God ! but decided to help Him out a bit, the bulb needin water, & it being His biz to have it grow, & Him bein Holy would not use anythin else but holy water , but I could not find any around, thought may b if I would boil the hell Out of this one I'll end up w some" he goes vahn, vahn , vahn ! I said "no, realy, I checked w other persons on this 1st and they said go 4 it here I'll show u" soooo -------- we went to my computer ! nudging the mse the pge. I left w answerin door came on reading 1Peter 5:8-9 that starts w "BE SOBER" right ? . Hey I told u God had bin w me on this !! yeh and that,s not all , after a couple of giggles ourselves I went on explainin "what in the WORLD I was talking about man" so I surfed them around OASIS, & 14 day prog & so forth, all of a sudden I see my sponsor scribblin the COOL address in his notebk !!!! -------- so , what do u think ? is the rose sprouting yet ?------- Oh, by the way, need I say we missed our mornin meeting ? or should I say we just had it here ? ----- WHENEVER 2 OR 3 OF U GATHER IN MY NAME , THERE I WILL BE, that's a Promise!!!

Amazing how people think we are crazy when we got us some Jesus flowing huh? That's why God's word says it's ok to be odd

You know I wonder if it wasn't a matter of your faith faltering that you began these steps, but more the fact that God felt you needed to grow closer to Him, in order that He may continue to use you for His calling. Either way I'm so glad He brought you to the Oasis.
