Day Two- My wife and I together

Postby merendarrin » Wed Nov 18, 2009 12:07 pm

Today, my precious wife and I are working in the garden together. That ol' gate was kinda creaky. What did we find there? Dandelions! Loads of 'em!

What really stuck us today was how we have been deceived by that Ol' Devil. He says, "Look at all those flowers!" and we say, "I thought those were weeds." But he replies, "Naw, those are flowers. Just look how pretty they are." And we believe.

But you know what's worse is when we look at the dandelion and we KNOW it's a weed, but we leave it there anyway. We may say, "Yeah, I know you're a weed, but I've gotten kinda used to you being there, so I'll let you stay." Or, "If it weren't for you, little weed, I wouldn't know what the real flowers look like!" Or, "Your being here must be God's way of bringing me closer to Him."

Now, there's no doubt that God sometimes allows things in our life to bring us closer to Him, but that doesn't mean that we need to let things in thinking that we're gonna help God when it comes to helping us. That's simply justifying our sins and weaknesses for our own sake.

Anyway, we've got work to do together, my bride and I. But it's so nice to look and see that we're not doing it alone, that we have one another, working toward the same goal.

How interesting...I have never thought of the "pretty" weeds being a way for the enemy to deceive us into believing that those weeds aren't flowers but truly weeds. Awww now I have a new way to recognize the lies. Thank you for sharing that.

You know Meredith and Darrin...it is so absolutely beautiful watching you two do this together. I remember when I first met Darrin here long ago and the path you two were on was a broken one...but now that path is not only a healed one, but a strong one that is getting stronger. God is going to use your marriage in a magnificent way to glorify Him.

Thanx for allowing me to walk this journey with you two. It is a blessing.

luv both of ya
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

oh, how true this is...just another way of his deceit. We do get used to them and even comfortable in them, cuz we dont know any different. But, His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Thank You, Lord, for showing us truth in this and that we dont have to stay where we are...that we can walk free in You truth.

Keep goin, my brother and sister in Him. Walking and praying every step of the way with you. This is going to be an awesome journey for you both.

in Jesus,
love momo *Halo*
