moving

Postby kimberly » Thu May 10, 2007 9:46 am

We have a move coming up soon, to another town, closer to my daughter and granddaughter. I will be thrilled to be closer to them, but moving is another matter! The house we are going to has been unlived in for a year and a half, so there is much to do there. And packing to do here.
As I sat the other day, thinking of all there was to do, I began to be tempted to panic. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH- how would it all get done..? How long would it take....? When my mind paused a moment, I focussed my thoughts on Him, and heard that quiet voice say, "Let Me." I thought of all the 'helping' scriptures I could, repeating them to myself, to shut my mind up, haha.
Since then, everthing has gone like clockwork. My daughter has orchestrated everything on the new house end, and is planning the same as far as packing and actual moving go. I have had offers of help from everywhere......nothing is left to chance.
I have been thinking about how moving is like salvation. You get a 'new' place to live as Jesus moves into your heart. You don't live in that old place anymore. You pack up all your 'stuff' and some of it you give away, some you hang onto. You get new 'hook-ups', new power from Jesus, via the Holy Ghost. A 'new' phone line to God. New warmth, new friends, new mail - From Him. New Life.
My daughter is nearing 31 years of age, and is a God-send to me. I had her before I was married, before I knew Jesus, but He knew me. Lots of people 'advised' me what to 'do about my problem'. But I didn't listen, I loved her from the first minute I knew about her. God looked down the road of my life, and blessed me with her........He loved me with her before I knew Him.
My life is rich in Him, I never want to forget that. The house He has provided is older, needs cleaning, but is PERFECTLY suited to our needs. Amazing. He is Amazing. God, live in me forever, and as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Kim[/b]
