the day God called you home

God looked around his Garden
and He found and empty place,
He looked up His earth
and saw your tired face,
He put His arms around you
and lifted you to rest,
Gods garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best,
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain,
He knew you'd never get well on this earth again,
He saw the road was rough
and the hills were hard to climb
so He closed your weary eyelids
and whispered "peace be thine."
it broke our hearts to lose you
but you didnt go alone
part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

dear dad

for 2 years I called you dad
the closest thing to a father I ever really had
you let me in your life
shared your daughter, son, and wife
you opened up your home
and treated me as your own
you past away this week
now all we can do is weep
and try and fight off defeat
you never told us you were sick
it hit us like a brick,
you were always so strong
and yet the weakest all along
for all you've done I promise you this:
all the strength youve shared and grown,
we now adopt as our own,
for all the love you used to give
low lies in us, so we can live,
all the hope you shared
will be our cross now bared.
this is for you Jo
from ashes to ashes and dust to dust
because of you we'll never give up.

We dont not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our touch, sacred to our touch, once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the spirit.
Jo was one of the first people I let reveal these splenders of the universe to me and he was one of the few that fought with me to keep my eyes open to God and the amazing plans He holds for my future. Jo picked me up when I was down, and he gave me my daily dose of spiritual reality. Jo treated my like his other daughter, he introduced me to people as his daughter. and for almost 2 and a half years I called him my dad because he was the closest the thing to a dad I've ever really had.
a light went out in the world when Gabe,Jo's son, told me he died in his sleep. I feel fatherless again. but I know in my heart that he is with our heavenly father and some how I think Jo wants me to know that. I dont think Jo would want us to weep and mourn as we do, he was a happy man, he celebrated life and love and practiced what he preached. maybe we should to.

rest in peace Jo we'll all miss you <3

Rain *Hug* I feel your pain. The loss of someone dear, it hurts because we will miss them. Especially those who cared for us, showed us kindness and love, and was there to help us.

I didn't know your Jo, but sis, sounds like a good man. I know you will carry memories of him in your heart forever, and yes he is in God's hands now. I pray you have peace rain, and that God comforts you.

John 14: 1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
