Day 6

Postby megandee » Tue Apr 01, 2008 9:50 pm

It has been awhile, since I have entered in Christian Counseling Blog. I have continued in my daily walk with the Lord, but I took a break from continuing in the steps. Although, as I said, I haven't taken a break from God. I have continued to pray, read and study God's Word on a daily basis. During the break from the counseling steps, I have been reviewing the first five steps, and feel that I am able to move foreword with the steps. I just finished reading day 6 step. and as always, the step was helpful and encouraging. Todays step 6 was especially challenging. As I work on this step I remember Philippians 4: 13, "I can do all things thru Christ who gives me strength".
The chart I make for this step for now will consist of the following daily goals: praying, Bible reading, weed pulling, forgiving others and myself, walking, eating less sweets, and controlling my thoughts. Some of these goals will be very easy for me, because I already do them. On the other hand, some will be a lot of work, because I am not in practice of doing them. The ones I need to work on are: walking, eating less sweets and controlling my thoughts. I have come a long way this last year in controlling my thoughts about others and myself, but I have a long way to go. Again," I can do all things thru Christs who gives me strength." Philippians 4: 13 Amen

Hey Megan, great to see you stepping back onto the program. Yes, the charts are hard, but they are great in giving some kind of routine to our daily living. Helps us overcome the things we think we can't, and when we write it down we can see how we are doing. On the walking and the sweets, replace the sweets with a piece of fruit, that way you still get the taste of something sweet, or some jello, sugar-free. On the walking, see if you can find you a walking buddy, someone to help keep you responsible. I've been through this myself, and some mornings I don't want to get up and exercise, but my boyfriend, says get up, go do what ya got to do. Thank God.

luv ya Megan, and God loves you more
