But I Don't FEEl Like It!

The bible gives us in 1 Corinthians 13 directions as to what love is.
When I check my love level against what the bible says is love I fall short.
Love is patient. We can be very patient outwardly, but on the inside do you hear, "grr, again?" or "grr! why?"
Love is kind. Once again, outwardly we could be considered very kind. But the Lord looks on the inward, and there are times very unkind words pass the thoughts and even are entertained with in where no one sees.
Ever cook a meal out of love and excitement as apposed to cooking a meal because you're just going through the motions. I go through the motions a lot. A LOT! We are told Love is not self seeking. Then why is there no joy in the offering?
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Could we say though we bring home a pay check, cook a meal, do the laundry, clean the house, care for the children, and have not love we are just making noise?
What about when the feeling of love is gone?
It becomes just work.
Just playing the part.
Are we to toss in the towel and walk away?
Heaven forbid. Love never ends.
There is a battle that rages to end love.
Fight to keep the fire burning.
Put self aside and put your spouse first.
What about those phone calls that end in a quick, luv ya.
Do you mean it?
Or is it just habit?
Or words spoken out of reflex?
Next time stop and do a love check before you speak those words.
Do you really love him/her. You may find yourself saying those words with a smile when you do.
How about when you send a brother or sister a pm, email, letter and you say love ya at the end. Do you mean it? You probably do. I believe you do. If you take just a moment to seek your love level before you send it, you will be the one blessed. It kindles love with in.
Love ya all!
