spirit-filled life

Postby stillstanding » Mon May 09, 2011 10:55 am

You are a child of God and I love you. No matter what you've ever done, I love you still! You have an eternal spirit alive within you and I know your spirit completely, and I love you. You're living your life, making choices, trying to do the right thing, doing what you have to do to survive, and it can be very difficult. I know and understand all of it ... But it can be easier if you will spiritually connect to Me.
I will show you what things are important and what things are temporal, because the things of the flesh, the things of the world, material things ... will all be left behind. What matters are the things of the spirit ... Love, faith, mercy, peace, patience, meekness, humility, gentleness, kindness ... Those are the things that make you rich and strong in spirit.
When your flesh goes back to the Earth, the goodness of your soul will be what really counts, because your soul never ages or dies. Your soul is the real you, and though for now it lives inside the shell of your flesh, it will live on forever, so abide in love. Include love in every facet of your life. Be compassionate, do good, be generous and understanding and forgiving, and by sharing love, you show Me to others.
SPIRIT OF TRUTH STUDY step 7

Holy Spirit remind me to ask you for the right decision, instead of instantly making them on my own...even the smallest ones.

i struggled this week...wednesday was a stressful day.
i get very attached to pets. i think animal lovers all do.
my pretty kitty was...well something was way wrong.
she normally sleeps on my bed. she is very heavy so when shes not there, you notice.
i rescued her and my other cat from a shelter. both were in bad shape when i got them.
they told me pretty was only 2 when i was adopting her, but i asked if they were sure because she looked much older. she had a lot of white hair on her face, and she is siamese, so her points should be (and are now) black.
anyways...wednesdady morning she was on the living room floor - not in her regular resting place so i asked her if she was ok. (siamese are talkers) she immediately answered back in a not normal tone. i asked her whats wrong. she answered again. now im worried. i tried to pet her and she growled. ok. definitely something has happened. i tried to see if i couild feel any swollen places on her like she was injured, but she bit me. called the vet. he said bring her in. got out the carrier and she went right in.
2 years ago i had to put a kitty down that we had only had for a year...she got feline leukemia. very very hard. so having something happen to pretty...i was stressed, scared, nervous, worried, sad...awful
the vet said to leave her so they could run tests and they wouldnt have results in until 3pm...6 hours
i struggled against all these feelings all day. i struggled with Holy Spirit about them. every time i would begin to feel all those things i would go back to Him saying i'm sorry, please help me with these feelings again. He was right there with me fighting thru it. \o/
the vet called at 3. i had to go in at 3:45 and consult with the doc. plus i had to get children to their various sporting activities and a concert and blahblahblah.
the vet said she is pre-diabetic. her liver is swollen and her enzymes are way off. she has an infection, probly UTI but hard to tell because her urine is very diluted because she drinks a LOT of water, becuase she is pre-diabetic. ugh.
He gave her antibiotics and special prescription food for a new diet, and said she can probably be ok if we get her weight down. shes only 4 years old.
more stress. my other cat has to eat the other food because shes allergic to fish. and pretty's vet bill was $170, which is not going to make hubby happy.
i wish i had more trust than i do. i wish i had enough that i could let all these things be the water on the ducks back. i pray for more. it's coming...im learning. but man, i coulda used it this day.
hopefully next time i will have a 1/2 a mustard seed worth of faith.

HI Sorta,
So much of what you had written here resonated with me. I have a dog who is like a child to me, I am probably really daft but I love him so much. He is getting old now and I can't bear to even think about the future.
I also have been having a really tough time over the past week or so, I think no coincidence that it started at a time when I had found this site and was really building my relationship with God and my marriage was beginning to thrive!!
I am constantly asking the Holy Spirit for the same thing, to stop me thinking the negative, bad thoughts and to stay with me through these trials and tribulations.
Just wanted to offer my support and let you know both you and your cat will be in my prayers today.

I am so with you on this. I read this and took a deep breath because I am right there right now. Back and forth up and down from peace and joy with him one moment to near panic the next moment.

We love our pets. And God understands that. Cause He loves them too.

love you sis. you are such a blessing to me. *Buddy*
