Hot Mulled Cider

Hello Everyone
God bless you this day.
The Autumn Season seems to call for Hot Mulled Cider. And, today -- here in Western NY, it is cold and rainy and sooooooo Hot Mulled Cider it is! Yeah!!!
There are many recipes out there, but I'll share my easy version:
1 quart apple cider
1 cinnamon stick
3-5 orange slices
3-5 whole cloves
1 piece/slice of candied ginger
Combine all ingredients in a pan on the stove top, bring to a boil, then immediately lower temperature to simmer. Strain and Serve in coffee mugs
Note: 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon can be used instead of cinnamon stick
1/4-1/2 teaspoon ground ginger OR 1 slice of fresh ginger can be used instead of candied ginger
Strain and Discard cinnamon stick, ginger and cloves before serving -- do not consume
Mmmmmmmmm, it tastes as good as it smells.
