Was trapped, now free

Forever a prisoner,
of their sick games.
I lift my arms,
bound with shackles and chains.
Banging on the door,
I am trapped inside.
My child within,
screams and cries.
I open my mouth,
nothing comes out.
I want to be heard,
but unsure of what to say.
Running from my past,
I can not forgive.
I try to hide,
the life I have lived.
I feel so alone,
someone please be there!
Is the world moving without me?
Am I really here?!
I look around,
not sure of where I am.
Feeling frozen,
watching others live.
Then a voice I hear,
you are not a prisoner!
You are not bound,
you are free!
Go ahead, open the door
and walk outside.
My precious child,
don't cry - laugh!
Open your voice,
you can speak!
You are heard,
you know what to say!
No need to run,
no need to hide.
You are not alone!
I am always here by your side!
Thank you God,
Praise you Jesus!
You died for me,
I now live for you!
