"What IF His People Prayed" ~ Casting Crowns ~
~ Casting Crowns ~
"What if His People Prayed"
Lyrics!
What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captive free
And not let satan have one more
What if the Church, for heaven's sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took a stand upon God's promise
And stormed hell's rusty gates
Chorus I:
What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His faith, yeah
And turn from their old ways
And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day
What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the Truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do
Chorus I:
What if His people prayed
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face yeah
And turn from their own way
Chorus II:
He said that He would hear
His promise has been made
He'd answer loud and clear, yeah
If only we would pray
Bridge:
If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray
If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray
Chorus Combo:
What if His people prayed
(If My people called by My name)
And those who bear His name
Would humbly seek His face, yeah
(If they'll humble themselves and pray)
And turn from their old ways
He said that He would hear
(If My people called by My name)
His promise has been made
He'll answer loud and clear yeaah
(If they'll humble themselves and pray)
If only we would pray
What if His people prayed
(If My people called by My name)
(If they'll humble themselves and pray)
(If My people called by My name)
*ohyeah*
What IF His People Prayed... Amen!
I know I catch myself tryin to figure out my own way through crud.... failing to stop and really pray for HIS intervention in the situation.
Too often, in this world of glittery distractions, we loose sight of HE WHO MADE US, He Who KNOWS All.
It is like bein at a parade.... Disney Parade for convo purposes
Our view is limited to that which passes before us.
Once the beginning of the parade makes its way down the parade route, we are no longer able to see the "awesomeness" that was... a creepy villain that jumped toward us and said "boo" perhaps can be recalled but the beauty gets lost in in that passing moment
The same is true for the end of the parade, we cannot see what the end is... will the final group be Mickey or Jafar?
We don't know because it is too far away right now.
All we see is the float directly in front of us.
Now, GOD is above our view, perhaps think of it as He is perched on a Cloud (for the sake of Height/vantage point consideration ONLY) , able to view the activities from this High point. He can see the beginning, the middle (where we are) and the End... ALL at the SAME Time!
So, He sees the pebbles in our path, or back to the parade... another villain waiting to pounce....
If we stop focusing on that which sits before us and seek HIM for the BIGGER picture, He is able to do His work much easier and We are blessed beyond understanding because working together is Much more freeing than....
"I can do it myself"
Your Turn!
Luv ya
