Never been a poet
Don't claim to be
But the poetry forum
Was just calling me

Don't even really know
Just what it is I want to write
But write something I must
Because I don't feel quite right

I've struggled a lot
Done right then done wrong
Back and forth
For far too long

I guess I just got tired
Tired of fighting
So I just gave up
Gave up on trying

I let go of His hand
Closed the door in His face
I let go of His truths
Walked away from grace

I tried to cover my eyes
So that I couldn't see
Tried to darken the room
But He wouldn't let me be

I turned up the music
So that I couldn't hear
Tried to ignore it
But He made Himself clear

I pushed Him away
So that I couldn't feel
But no matter what
He proved He was real

I know this way isn't the right one
I know I'm falling away
But this is what I've chosen
The price I know I'll pay

But the longer I'm here
The more I don't want to stay
I'm so ashamed
I can't live this way

The tears want to fall
But I'm holding them back
Feeling confused
And under attack

I know what I need to do
Lord the answer is You

I got on here and was reading the poetry but felt I wanted to write something....I started to write and after bout 10 mins....this is what came out.
I've always liked to write but never thought I was very good, but I usually write better stuff when I'm feeling like this. When I'm down...I've heard it said that art comes from emotion, maybe that's why....
anyway...thanx 4 reading and responding, GB! love ya!
