Allergies

Postby Dora » Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:48 pm

I am allergic to pets. I have a dog and 2 cats. I can handle one cat but two just seems to put my allergies over the top.

I don't want to go on medication again for allergies. And I'm a bit fond of these two cats and no way can I depart from my dog. She's been with me for 12 years. She's dearly loved.

Any ideas on what I can do? Right now I can't even comb them. One walks in the room and I start sneezing and itching. I'm miserable! Nose running, eyes burning all day, sneezing, even my skin itches.

You can try getting air purifiers for the rooms. Keep one next to your bed and have your bedroom off limits to all animals so you can get a good, clean nights sleep.

Also see if someone can brush your cats on a regular basis to cut down on allergins.

One more suggestion. If there is something other then the animals that you are allergic to, keep away from that. Say milk bothers you, don't eat ice cream or cheese. This way your body can keep itself clean.

just some suggestions

Oh Thank you Deetu.
Those sound like some good advice.

I'm allergic to everything in this world. lol

Pollens, molds, dust, and some foods bother me slightly. Milk will make my stomach hurt a bit so I rarely drink it. Along with it's friends, ice cream and cheese. I should write it off completely till winter is over.
