I Talked to My Son

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

Praise the Lord Sylvia. God is hope. We can't ever stop hoping. I pray your son continues on this path of healing his body, and his life. Sis, you are doing so good also to be there for him. It's great to see him being a daddy to his child, and I know his child had to be happy too. Keep praying and keep helping him fight.

God Bless you *hug*

Hi,
This has been a morning of blessings.
My son got drunk last night and was arrested for shop lifting.
When I picked him up to take him to the methadone clinic he told me about it. His truthfulness to me was a step in the right direction.
He said he needed to change his life and he knew the only answer was God.
He asked me to call the pastor of our church.
The pastor met us at the church and my son and the pastor talked.
When they came out of his office, my son had accepted Christ as Savior.
He did it when he was a little kid but the pastor said to do it again as a new beginning.
The pastor also knows someone who just got saved a few months ago who recovered from drugs and alcohol 12 years ago. He is going to introduce my son to this guy tomorrow.
I know God's hand is in all this. When I was waiting at the church for my son and the pastor to come out, I opened a bible sitting on the chair next to me and I opened it to:
1 Corin. 1:9 "God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
Isn't that wonderful? God is faithful. Not some of the time, not once in awhile, but always and always and alway faithful.
We can trust Him.
Thank You Jesus!

Hi friends
So much has happened since I first wrote this post.
First of all my son talked to our pastor and gave his life to Christ.
I am still taking him to the methadone clinic every day. I talk to the people there waiting their turn. I was even offered a job there by the staff because I show compassion to those who come and don't judge them. Many of the people there have nobody. Most of their family and friends gave up on them long ago.
I give out hugs and prayers. Sometimes hold babies for Moms who have to go dose.
My son called me today. He wants to get baptized this Sunday!!
Praise the Lord!! God is faithful!!
Then he told me that one of the girls I give a ride to on Sundays to the clinic wants to come to church with us.
God is at work. Praise the Lord. Thank You Jesus!
Luv You all
