The Light that shines

In times of darkness there's a light that shines
brighter and brighter, the darkness it binds
The deepest darkest secrets we try to hide
are seen so clearly by Him Who seeks to find
He searches the heart of His beloved child
not a spot nor a blemish is hidden from His eyes
A cry and a plea, the heaviest burdens of sin
He's uprooting and cleansing, causing new life to begin
Won't you hear His call, open the door
You don't have to live in the shame anymore
You are His creation, the apple of His eye
You are His chosen, His called, He continues to try
Walk free in the Light that He offers to you
His mercy is forever, His love, the truest of true
His patience is longsuffering, His words are alive
He's waiting for you to give back to Him your life
Your life is not your own, but you do have a choice
Will you live it alone or will heed to His voice?
He has everything you need in His capable hands
He will bring peace and healing to your devastated land
Let His light in, let Him bring you to life
Let Him light up those corners you've tried to so hard to hide
He brings rest to the weary and peace to the heart
His desire is for you, for eternity to never be apart
by un-named but very dear to me
