I know it has been over a month since my last response... honestly, I got too busy with school and just didn't have time. I hope to spend the next couple weeks going through the steps correctly for the first time.

I also must say I am falling back into old habits. If anything this shows me why dedication is so important. I won't be discouraged by it.

The main reason I am posting, however, is to wish everyone who has spent their time reading my rants and whines over the past 5 months a VERY Merry Christmas!!! Thanks for your support!!

Good to see you back Arken. :)

Merry Christmas to you to.

I didn't see any ranting going on. Just a friend working his way into a deeper more meaningful relationship with Christ.

Guys, I know I've been away from this for too long. I have had major downs and ups from this topic. However, my life has taken a dramatic turn. Please see my post in the prayer forum, as I need all that I can get.

Thanks for your continued support and fellowship.

It has been about a year since I started this journey, but I never finished it. I got so excited about the feeling of step 1, that I let my guard down. Amazing how the analogy of a weed fits what happened to me so well; one little weed turned into a forest. It hasn't been a wasted year, though. It has shown me that feeding the sin in your life, and not having faith and giving everything you've got to fight it, only wastes time. I have reached no goals in the past year. I have to start over.

Isn't it "funny" how returning to this sin gains me nothing? I constantly see my life as what it could be, and always realize that it's what God wants for me, yet somehow I keep wandering off the path. I have read some online blogs about homosexuals that say, "don't listen to that Jesus crap. If you spend your life fighting your homosexuality, you will become messed up. I know someone that had a shrink tell him he would probably never heal from it." It's because the longer you practice the sin, the harder it is to free yourself from it. I'm no better off today that I was last year. If I just said forget God, I'm gay and oh well. I even still can't imagine myself any better off. Whichever path you choose is hard, but God's is the only one that even appears to actually work.

On top of this, I am dealing with my father's cancer surgery this week. I must admit I have advanced into a somewhat depressive state. I don't feel overwhelmed by depression, but there are days when I feel it. My faith is being tested to trust in the Lord to not only relieve me from the grips of my own sin, but to heal my father of a very nasty cancer.

It is time to dedicate more time to Oasis, as well as much quality time with my father (and *Father*) as possible.
