God's comfort

Postby Timothy » Sun Sep 08, 2013 3:15 pm

Was driving down a back road thru the farm lands of southwestern Michigan that I had been down only one time before.
This was way out of my comfort zone of the crowded cities of southeastern Michigan. I had a map to guide my way the first time I was out this way. I had filed that map away for future use, if needed. Then on the day the "future" came,
I had forgotten the map. *Doh* As I drove around the back roads of the farm lands where cattle were grazing,
horses were romping, and large fields were bordered by rows of trees, I began to feel lost. Every couple of miles it felt like I was driving over the same spot I'd been just moments before. It was if I was in some kind of time warp! *dunno*
Nothing was looking familiar to the last time I'd been down this way. ( There was one thing I knew for sure! If I started
seeing fields of giant white windmills I would have to make an immediate U-Turn!!! "Freedom" was not what I
was looking for at this moment. )

I began to get anxious and tense. I was worrying I had missed my turn off. My legs were cramped, my sholders were
tight, my knuckles were white, my head felt like it was going to burst! I began to pray for direction and discernment.
About thirty seconds into my prayer He gave me this sign. A sign that brought great relief! A sign that brought me
immediate comfort! Right away the tension in my head had just suddenly vanished! I felt my sholders relax and the
tension drain from my body, down my back, out of my gut, releasing the cramping of my legs, flowing down my calves
and out of the bottom of my feet. I was completely relaxed and assured I was still on the right road. This had happened
one time before when I had been lost and prayed for direction. The *SAME* sign that directed my path only
a couple years ago, *AGAIN* directed my path this day! The sign was not complicated to interpret. It was plain
and simple to understand. This sign had only one word. Only *one* that brought me comfort and
encouragement. I think you all have seen this sign a time or two yourselves here on Christianity Oasis and may have felt
a similar sense peace and joy. The street sign, popping out of one of those hidden intersections, in all its simplicity and yet humble prowess simply read: " Pine "

Ten minutes later I was right where I was suppose to be. Thank you, Lord! Amen! \o/
True event! *JesusSign*

Oh my goodness!!!! I just found this. In tears. Who would of thought a silly little name would of touched and guided someone. And for years I was almost embarrassed that I chose such a strange name. I listened to His voice on the day I chose that name and I didn't even realize it was HIS VOICE! As back then I believed God didn't really talk to most people on this earth.

Still bawling. God bless you Timothy. You are such a blessing to me. I can't wait till that glorious day we can see each other all day every day with out hindrance.

Geesh I am just blown away. Thank you Lord for using such simple things as a silly name. If you use our chat room names to guide someone then how much more will you use our testimony. *Pray*
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.
